Invasive Plants | Stopping Mint in Garden Bed and Gopher Attack

Invasive plants like mint can be hard to control. But by blocking off part of your garden bed will allow you to keep the mint under control while still being able to enjoy fresh mint. A Gopher decided to come by and snack on one of my Brussel sprouts, so I set the table for him to return!

Generally, yes, in the desert- no. Mint will not thrive in my desert sandy unrelenting Father Sun no water sand outside the garden bed.

And then 1 day, there were many. I said the same, and now I have to really get to work. Took over my entire rose garden area. Lol. I have 2 acres at the jersey shore, and a 20x40 inground pool and trying to create a homestead. Yup, still learning. Good luck. Put them in pots. GREAT VIDEO. Haha come n get it 🤣

Come over and take as many from my flower bed😂 They are escape artists and very invasive! I grew it in the container just one little plant and they're multiplying every year even in the cold area. I made a mistake placingthe container on my flower bed. Today, the container is emptied because they want to be on the ground and take ownership of the entire bed. I pull them out everytime but seems like I'm doing then a favor because there's more of them and stronger each year. Now it's me against them. 😂

You should not just pull it out regularly you need to pull out the rhizomes it makes undergroud

I tried to suffocate mine with plastic and wood. I've tried everything. It's like Bamboo it will grow underground until it finds an area to surface. I can't for the life of me to kill that crop. Do you have any other ideas

I'd like an answer to this question too. I have dug up, and physically pulled up roots by hand ( killing my back!!!) and my mint plants in my raised garden beds are out of control!! I want to kill the stubborn roots so I can plant stuff for this coming Fall. Please help!!!!

Same. I’ve dug mine up and set multiple bonfires on it. Poured boiling water on it but no luck. It’s a 10x11’ bed. And it’s spreading all over the place.
