You'll watch an entire Netflix show even when the first episodes are slow and boring just because someone told you "it gets better." *But what if you looked at your goals like that and watched your life get better instead?*

There is one difference - the episodes that follow are written taking into account the public reaction and sentiment they show towards the characters hence it gets better over time. This is very similar to the experimentation that is outlined in the book. Coming to your premise, if one is able to conduct experiments and learn from them as they progress towards their goal then you can say that the path prescribed in the book can be used in our lives as well... having big goals is commendable but we need to work on the small steps (actions), fail, learn and persist to make the goal a reality over time

Bezos has now retired from Amazon to pursue a full time position filing lawsuits against SpaceX.

Wouldn't it be some funny shit if Elon beat him to that too? Like start filing lame lawsuits against ourselves so Bezos won't win at that either...

You forgot that luck is a good part of the effort as millions are trying it and do not even achieve to be millionaires. We forget that there was not one guy like Bill Gates in a garage there were thousands of them and only a tiny minority made it.
