Bought myself some 3M anti-fog glasses yesterday. My experience so far: Yes there is no more fog. But if you also wear a dust mask, a ton of water still collects in the glasses and lots of droplets on there. Better sight, but far from clear vision.
@cav89-4 жыл бұрын
Yeah. It doesn’t fog up, but it condensates water as a film over its surface. Takes a little longer then regular fog-friendly mcglarsses before its bad enough you have to clean them, but no solution to the problem at all.
@ThePostApocalypticInventor4 жыл бұрын
@One Man's Trash Aus Nice to meet some viewers here as well :) About the glasses: They work well enough when you don't wear a mask. But I wanted to use it for wirewheeling lots of rusty / painted parts outside. When I do that I like to wear a jumpsuit, ear protection, a dust mask and glasses or a face shield. It is very hard to find the right combination of these things to protect your eyes, ears and lungs without facing issues: And when it comes to faceshields and glasses, they all get foggy when I use them outside at cold temps and while wearing a dust mask. These 3M glasses indeed do not get foggy in the classical sense, but water still collects on the glasses in bigger drops and clouds your vision. It is an improvement though. Including shipping, I payed 24€ which isn't actually cheap for a simple set of glasses.

A more practical way to prevent your safety squints/glasses, mirrors and windows from fogging up is to use either Dish Soap or Shaving Cream on them. All you have to do is take a few drops Dish Soap or a gob of Shaving Cream and rub it all over the surface you want de-fogged (if they're safety's/glasses be sure to apply it to both sides). After you've rubbed it all over, take a dry cloth and wipe down/buff the surface clean then voila, it's fog proof. My Grandfather showed me this trick like 25+ years ago and I've been using it on my safety squints, bathroom mirrors and car windows ever since.

The problem is, as far as I know, there's only a couple of hundred people in the world with the required pilot license endorsements to actually fly it. And mass production would be a half a billion dollar investment just to set up with all the required certifications, maintenance organization, tooling. 200 people total customer base.. 500 million to break even; 2,5 million a unit assuming you sell one to each.. which you won't.
