I have a comment about this kind of structure, is it possible to make the flat belt of the conveyor translate, as it does in the real motion ? Because this body is seen like a rigid one

is there a way to make your first example work (i.e. the cleat starts 1inch away from center curve).?

for some reason when I make my slot, inventor still thinks I need two more dimensions to be fully constrained.

well, Inventor crashed and I didn't save. I opened Inventor again, started a new part, and fully constrained.

Sorry to hear about your crash, but glad things are fully constrained now. In the future, you could use the "Degrees of Freedom" tool in your sketch to see what still requires a constraint / dimension. Often there is a stray point somewhere that requires 2 constraints / dimensions...
