Lumbar Traction/ Inversion Tables!🙃🙃🙃 #wednesdaywisdom.

Traction can come in many forms: hanging from a bar, single leg, belt assisted, machine assisted, or inversion tables.
.
.
.
Traction and inversion tables are somewhat controversial due to a large body of research showing NO benefits in regards to the treatment of low back pain.
.
.
.
However, there is some conflicting evidence that shows some select groups of people may have benefits with traction. This includes people with nerve root compression, among other factors.
.
.
.
Of note, traction should never be used as a standalone treatment for low back pain. There also needs to be a well designed rehab program for long term results.
.
.
.
In my opinion, traction is still a great tool for general stretching of the low back, for relaxation in the lumbar musculature, and for some people it provides short term pain relief! It also may have some additional benefits for a select group of individuals including those with nerve root compression.

Great video. I bought one in 2008 and have never been back to a Chiropractor ever since.. I Swear by them. I use mine everyday and I feel Amazing!

Good idea! For starters: It is recommended to start for 1-2 min, then slowly progress for 3-5 min, or longer depending on comfort. It can be done daily, or even multiple times a day as needed. Biggest key: listen to your body, and progress slowly.

if you're worried about falling use the Teeter inversion therapy lx9 incredibly safe and it's weight and gravity-based very easy it picks you right back up simply holding your arm from your elbows to your fingertips up it's great

@@StrengthandSport the interlocking bar makes it so much safer and easier without having to bend too far and I didn't know it teeter totter is because they don't advertise it as such and it's great as well as the Angles and upside down. It also has one setting for 100 lb people and less. Mr Teeter master his inversion therapy table lx9. God bless him🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏿‍♂️✝️💪🏻

What about midback disc protrusion? T4 to t8 will it help

Yes- Inversion tables/ traction in general can be really helpful for disc protrusions in both the upper back and lower back..(However- everyone's injury is different- and not everyone will respond the same/ get the same results.

If something can actually lock around both ur ankles and you are fully suspended from your ankles even 1 minute can reset your vertebrae

If the table is set up correctly you can move it up and down by simply moving your arms.
