What an awesome gem. Must be in a very small club of aircraft that have evolved from piston engines into fast jets in their lineage. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely!! Worked on a life expired airframe during my apprenticeship, engine is more complex than expected. Two speed supercharger, variable pitch prop and lots of oil smoke from the lower cylinders if not run every day!

Used to fly in this aircraft most weekends in my younger years, doing a lot of aerobatics and low level flying along with the Harvard too, Very lovely aeroplane to fly and very unique in its own way.

I worked on these at RAF Little Rissington, Gloucestershire, England. Its funny how I remember the pneumatic system was charged to 450 PSI and it was cartridge started. 6 shots in a Koffman starter and loads of smoke out the back
