Anyone any idea what became of Lauren? Off flying for an airline?

Hello Lauren ! Please, what are those devices, up of the ailerons? What are them useful for ? Thanks in advance for your answer and congratulations for your amazing way of joining poetry and flight!
@LaurenAirshows10 ай бұрын
They’re called Spades. They’re attached to the ailerons and act to reduce the control forces - meaning it’s easier to roll the aeroplane!

@@LaurenAirshows Do you have Frise and/ or Differential ailerons in your plane ? If so, are them part of the stock Pitts Special, or just in some particular ones ?

Watching not making videos at the moment, been too busy learning the ropes with my new job as a military QFI to be able to do much personal flying and video making sadly! Hoping to be back displaying next year though so we shall see!

How did you route the Di2 cables? Did you run the left shifter to the right using another port? Or did you use the Y junction? Curious to know if you can thread a cable from one side of the bar to the other, or if the middle of the bars, where the stem connects, is solid. Thanks.

Now that it's been a year, how do you rate the carbon bars over traditional round bars for comfort?
@LaurenAirshows2 жыл бұрын
I genuinely really like them, how much is due to them being carbon and how much is just that they’re the right size (previous were wider) I’m not sure. Definitely less road buzz through them though!

That is the best looking Pitts I’ve ever seen. I’m rebuilding an S1C. I’m gathering as many pictures of G-BKDR as I can to help me layout the sunburst pattern on the wings and stab.

Looks quite stealthy in that black/dark grey. The good thing about horse poop is that it is just processed grass. Hearing you talk about the specs I smiled at the thought of what a keen cyclist would think of my last bike. It had, er, wheels, a frame... Actually for the time it was a bit of a hybrid road bike with chunky tyres. I think the frame was made of steel or something heavy. It had a hand grip gear shift, streight bars with "horns" on the end. The gears were either a "10 or 12 speed" with a 2x. I'm looking forward to the aviation course videos.

have you done any data work to figure out your most efficient mix of cadence, power and heart rate ?
@LaurenAirshows3 жыл бұрын
Not really, I need to ride the same climb a few times to start working that out, most of the hills round here are much much steeper grades and much shorter so it’s just a matter of hitting a power then recovering afterward. These longer shallower climbs are what I need to work on for this year to improve my threshold pace for sure!

Lucky enough to say I've seen you fly, my cousins did a video for you, (Mike and Ian) we're big fans. Keep your chin up, just seen your Twitter post and don't know what's going on. But like us, most men are jealous of your skills. Many men have fragile egos, I guess you can't tell them to grow up in a professional setting, but that's what they need to do.

Hi Lauren, apologies if you’ve mentioned this in another video, but what power meter do you use ?
@LaurenAirshows3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t as yet actually! I fitted a 4iiii single sided power meter crank a while back. Basically the cheapest option I could get hold of and it’s been flawless. Ok so it would be nice to have a double sided power meter to look at L/R balance but for my level and what I ride it’s just fine. Highly recommended!
