Great work!! It's great seeing you in the midst of the passage way, it keeps things in perspective. Thank you very much. But really Brent, you should be doing this in at least 1080p. 720p is to low definition.😉

Thanks Enrique for the comment. Yes, 1080p was the plan, but didn't realize until it was all done. Next time!

It would be wonderful to find either plaques or bullah from the times of David, Solomon, Rechavam, Asa, and Yehoshafat. It would settle a lot of debates about their importance in archeological circles.

Brent, Thanks for another excellent video, along with great articles and interviews that are produced by AIBA. This exciting work on Solomon's Wall in Jerusalem adds more deeply to the understanding of the relationship to the other very similar gates in other cities of Israel by establishing the extent and importance of Solomon's kingdom and rule. As a bonus from the very beginning of the video you showed the context of this Ophel site in relation to the Mount of Olives. It helps to understand the layout of this work in a clear visual context with other important historical and biblical sites and places. I was hoping for the camera to pan toward the Eastern Wall of the Temple Mount as you were pointing to it. It helps in the understanding of Jerusalem as a whole and in particular the work of AIBA as part of the PCG. I am looking forward to your ongoing work in revealing the historical and spiritual accuracy of God's Bible.

What were the 6 chambers used for? Are they guard stations? Thanks!

Ok. Very interesting. But I think to attribute this to 9th or 10th century is inconclusive at best. Was there any carbon-14 verifiable finds to corroborate this. I know there were plenty of charcoal remains thoughout the structure when we first started uncovering the massive Herodian building in 1975 the remains of which was later destroyed after the team I was on began to uncover iron age structures in 1978 and fully exposed by Eilat in the 1980's. I was with the Ambassador College group in 1975 and took up the digs offer to go on the payroll and keep working that site. I returned in 1978 where we began to go deeper and uncover part of the iron age structure. From my understanding the structure can only be definitively dated to the time-frame of Hezekiah but not Solomon. Plus a few shards of pottery in fill for such a turbulent site are not a definitive proof. Her grandfather proclaimed to the world press, in the fall of 1975, that the Herodian building was Queen Helena's palace. None of us believed it and one archeologist's pronouncement on anything can't be taken at face value without thorough peer review. I would love to see something definitive from the early monarchy. I also wish there was some way to have preserved the Herodian building. What we found there showed it was way grander than the burnt house. All that is mostly left is the photographic record I took myself and the digs' achives which for some reason was left out of the digs' final report.

@@camposricardo86 the December 1977 Biblical Archaeology Review has an article with photo's of the site. Also, Leen Ritmeyer chief architect of the dig has some photos as well. Might try the Israel Exploration Society too. They have such a large library of photos of the dig. Dont know why so little made it into the final report.

How did "As Well" replace "Also?" Also I'd like to thank you for posting this video with the overlay to help understand the gate.
