These videos really highlight how highly skilled these professional players are. It's easy as an amateur to think "if I can just fix my swing then I'll break 80". Sofia has an early extension problem yet her brain is still able to sub-consciously deliver the club to the ball well enough to compete at a professional level. That's true skill.

Fantastic. TPI is the bomb. I have had 2 TPI assessments and worked for a year with a TPI trainer, GEARS sessions to confirm what's happening and I am hitting the ball the way I did back in the mid 90s when I was 33 years old.

Thank you for this video. When I was a senior in college I was one of the best ball strikers I knew. Through a career of playing and practicing on and off I could not figure out why my ball striking has gotten so bad. This is exactly my problem right here 100%. Now I have a range plan to fix myself. Thank you.

Best video I have seen from you guys in a while! Love the CSI work you did to figure out what was causing this player's issues. Great stuff! The brain and body are remarkable at compensation patterns for different movement patterns.....if we don't catch them early enough, we can get those nasty, chronic injuries and bad outcomes. Agreed this is gold, I do this and have been making it worse, whilst trying to fix it I've hard wired a hand path that is at odds with what exactly needs to happen, I've been throwing my hands right to try and draw the ball back but of course just end up blocking it right time and time again, I have down the line videos in slow mo and my right hip thrusts outwards throwing my hands out toward the ball, sometimes I manage to flip enough for good contact, when I stand on top of the ball with my wedges it doesn't happen because my left hip goes back to match my right hip and my hands swing left.

Ive watched some other golf channels and another possible why there is early extension is the way the pelvis moves in the backswing where the centre of the pelvis moves towards the ball. Appreciate you touched on pelvis move in the downswing, but what about the backswing? Can this be another why?

As someone who has seen multiple instructors and cannot keep their lead arm straight-ish for the life of them, do you think TPI will be able to assist? I can do it when we’re doing static positions, but when I actually swing, I have to let the club and arms travel past where we practice.

So if I address the ball and I look at the top of the grip it should appear to be on the line between the tips of my big toes? NO WAY that is going to happen unless I extend my arms straight out. Or do mean that if I drop a plumb-line from the top of my grip that the plumb-line would touch my toe-line? Even that make me feel like I'm reaching.

If her long game is good, she should not change it at all. Her rolling release is fantastic and should not be changed at all. Or at the minimum if she tries a change, she should alternate between old and new swing so that she does not land up messing her swing. I think the best advice for her would be to use a closer ball position and the suggested swing only for wedges. It is possible to learn 2 different swings. The alternative she can try is to use single length wedges which have a longer shaft and stay with her regular swing. But that would likely work only for full swing. It is not clear how good she is with half swing with her long game. Most likely, she cannot do it because of early extension. I'm though tempted to say that maybe she can avoid early extension without changing her release pattern. Let it be like Mike Austin and not exit low left.

Because the wrist lag is a result, not a cause.
@MyTPI5 ай бұрын
Wrist lag isn't necessarily a bad thing (Sergio seems to have had success with a similar move!). Our goal isn't to completely change a pros swing when they come in and see us for a day. It's to help them understand 1) what they are doing (our 3D system is really helpful for this) and, more importantly, 2) why they might be doing it that way (through physical screening). Then when they are working on their game they will have a better idea of the physical and technical elements that underpin their performance
