Awesome, I just wish I was young again ,I completely understand every concept and the How and why,but way to many injuries, 60 years old ,I just don't have the mind set to practice my golf swing to be this good. But I love how someone can break down every part of a swing,the Machanics behind it all and how the body feels when it's done correctly. outstanding, love it, A+ no doubt. Thank you, guys, for sharing the journey. Now make it stick. Priceless information was just given.

I've been fighting early extension for years. So much so I now have a lower back impingement. I will definitely be giving some of these techniques a go. Outstanding content and so much gold in there!!!

@golfsciencelab I have bands at home and I really like the pulling portion of feeding the fault. I could see the pushing part being great too. I think using sliders will be a great reinforcement

Great content in this video. Mark mentioned some exercises to do in the gym. Can you give us an idea on what those are?

This is a GREAT video. As an instructor, it's important to stay up on biomechanics. So many players have this issue and don't know if. Thank you! Edit: so the foam roller in on the 45 degree angle behind and slightly outside the hip?

Can check with Mark but believe that is correct!

@@golfsciencelab yeah it would make sense as that is the direction of the hip motion due to the slight lateral slide/axis tilt in the mid downswing. From the dtl view, I couldn't see the entire roller so I'm pretty sure that's where it is. Thanks for responding. I appreciate it.

This is EXACTLY me. Every other 'early extension' video just shows some exaggerated extension and then say "turn through, dont stall" etc. This is the type of analyisis I Love - solving the the domino effect / puzzle is all part of the fun!

Does early extension hurt the back more or less? Is open to target address help in hitting golf ball better if one has too much in to out swing?

EE can also happen simply due to lack of depth and if you look at his backswing, its really upright and not a lot of t spine turn

Awesome vid. Makes laugh at all the "how to fix your EE" shorts and reels online that just have you try and keep your butt against a wall/chair, etc. which would never address root cause.

Are you using the Benoit method or Mark Blackburns? Or are you showcasing people and sticking with your natural swing?

Instead of calling it early extension, can it be called Forward Extension? We want the extension but it needs to be directed in the right way. What is a term to describe the right kind of movement? -45° Extension? 0:41

? when you compare players that go into the heel of the front foot and it stays planted and they roll to the outside as compared to an extreme example Lexi Thompson who is on her toes pushing and the heel is off the ground...are they both still pushing from the same part of the foot? how are their techniques different?
@rt33t39
@rt33t39 5 ай бұрын
I think the reason this happens is because there's multiple forces being pushed into the ground at once she completes the push going forward first then a vertical force follows up making her foot come off the ground

You have to get the pelvis open at the bottom to play consistent good golf. It works for me.

His swing is off plane, to high? That’s a big reason he early extends. The lower he goes will help him drive his pelvis? Am I crazy?

I love seeing out of shape old man exercise for Golf with these weird motions and twisting with elastic. Do some cardio with some weights. Do normal exercises instead of trying to do Golf specific exercises only. how lazy are you? get a better body over all and you’ll be able to hit it further with more consistency. look at tiger he was always in great shape.. yes you can be a Jhon daily. But for how long

you have to realize force is the language of our cells, so to instigate change at the cellular level we have to apply forces that the body can't perceive on it's own w current hardware. To make changes you have to educate the nervous system about new forces. What exactly is a "normal" exercise? Look up the Law of Specificity. If you do squats, your body simply adapts to doing squats.It doesnt make you hit the ball any further. Trick.

You need to read either video. It’s way way too vague starting with the slide or the skateboard need to walk us through that much better much more clear the whole swing when you do the slide do more than just a slide. Show us the whole swing. what are you looking for

He’s too close to ball! That’s so evident. He needs to reach for the ball. Been too close to the ball he doesn’t have room.

Preposterous complexity. The key question is this: What is the ball doing? Then adjust accordingly. John Jacobs had it right.
