Beautiful car , my exact choice of colour spec , everything ! bought a Caterham 2019 with a view to do some touring but basically just use it for track days as tooooo uncomfortable (Still got it) so put a deposit on a 718 gts waited a verrryyyy long time, while waiting almost bought an identical 981 as yours , unfortunately my wife had a serious diagnosis so everything went on hold , circumstances changed but have picked up a 987.1 which has cost me a fortune but absolutely love!!😊 still aiming to get one (let me know if you ever want to sell it !!😊) great vids , looking forward to the next ones

Thank you Marvin - I consider myself fortunate to have found it. And a manual too, which is very much my thing. I can relate to the Seven - my first sportscar was a Seven Roadsport. Brisk and charismatic but far from a tourer! The 987 is a great car - my first Porsche was a 987.2, and I loved it. The 981 GTS merely turns everything up a few notches. Funnily enough I too had a deposit down for a 718 BGTS 4.0 for a short while, before another price rise blew the man maths. I honestly don’t regret the 981 one bit as an alternative. It’s a very accomplished car, and a pleasure to own. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. 👍

ah yes , the dreaded man maths , think thats how I talked myself into a new one to start with 😂, when they were about 68k list . you never know , might see you driving about , think you mentioned Saffron Walden a lot , I have a wk shop at west Wratting so take mine to wk occasionally when the weathers right ! @@christianpratt

I noticed you've done some wk on the pcm , had no end of wk done on my 987 but one of the last things is the PCM works but the display has gone wrong , all flickery and on and off , strangely after it had been to a amateur detailer (any problems with your 987 ?) fixable or just replace after market or the expensive Porsche updated one 😩

​@@marvinbiggs1048 I don’t remember having any problems with the 987’s PCM, in truth. Have you got any flakey electrical connections at the rear, perhaps? It’s almost certainly not worth bothering with a direct replacement. Go for the new ‘Classic’ unit if you want to keep the looks, otherwise I imagine a suitable aftermarket unit will provide way more functionality at a fraction of the price.

How are the Goodyear's performing in terms of dry & wet grip.

I haven’t really pushed them hard in the dry yet, but certainly they were nice and stable on a soaking wet motorway recently, and do seem to hang on well enough. I’m not rushing to replace them…
