One of the creepiest places I ever visited, was Napsbury Hospital, in Hertfordshire, probably around twenty years ago, now. I was working on the pilot episode of what became The Inspector Lindley Mysteries. It was winter and as the day wore on and the darkness drew in, the atmosphere within that place got increasingly heavy, until it quite literally felt as if the spirits were about to start crawling out of the walls. If any buildings are likely to be haunted, it has to be asylums.

Wow what a video. One of the best. I feel like they are still living like patients and doctors. A lot of people had their rights taken away and the doctors made all their decisions for them so they couldn’t just up and leave. It’s like they still live how they did when alive. I wonder when the building was last used, I noticed some more modern things like no smoking signs, employee only signs clearly printed by a computer and even bundles of network cable. What a cool find though, they had such beautiful taste back when they built those buildings such a shame it has such a gross and torturous past.

The building is gorgeous but with a terrible past. Considering that a lot of the patients were left there and never saw their families again. So sad 😞 They more than likely don’t realize that you guys aren’t there to harm them, so they are guarded and wary. Which is totally understandable considering what went on in these places.
