One of the biggest factors I look at when picking make-up is whether or not they are cruelty free. E.L.F. and Mineral Fusion are two companies I've used that have great coverage and pigmentation. ELF is generally my go-to for a lot of my make-up.

He definitely is an artist. You can see it in the way his hand controls those brushes. I envision him drawing each strand of hair one by one on a pencil drawn portrait -as it should be, of course. Just like a fine artist... each new stroke perfecting the last one. Loved the video. Thank you.

I agree that it is difficult to find foundation that works in an acceptable color in the drugstore but there are some amazing products in the drugstore now.

Spend your money on skincare. My experience has been that high end and drugstore look about the same for the first couple of hours but drugstore doesn’t have the longevity. Having said that, I use a lot of makeup Revolution, Morphe and ELF products and they work great. But I use my Laura mercier for special occasions.

Never cheap out on pencil eyeliner. The drugstore ones are hard like no. 4 graphite pencils. They crumble as you put them on and you end up with sharp particles in your eye.

The NYX slide-on pencil liners go on like butter though! :)

Janet Steinman if you prefer a cheaper pencil try E.L.F. They are really good and if you're not a price snob you can get really good products and brushes from them.

I use Maybelline. they have a good blond color pencil. it comes in a package of two red pencils. been using for years. also use a mustache wax to seal over. now they have a mascara type brow sealer.

I only use 3 pcs of make up: foundation, eyeliner and mascara. Always have. I just like it quick, simple and more natural. A good foundation is a must since it's your base and canvas. The others I think you can go cheaper on.

I used to think I had to spend more on foundation, but it seems drugstore lines have been stepping up their game, and there are a few good options. Eyeshadows, highlighters, bronzer, and finishing powders - for those, I tend to go high end. I also like to find products that multi task - I use Dermablend cream concealer, it is budgeproof and covers everything - doubles as a great eyeshadow primer, and has SPF 30, so has added protection for the delicate eye area. A good bronzer that is more cool in tone works well as an eyeshadow, and so do a lot of highlighters. I disagree about primers, I don’t think they are a must, at least not for every skin type. My skin is normal, very little texture, no obvious pores. I see absolutely no difference when I use a primer of any kind.

kandy hoffman It CC Cream. It's my #1 go to holy grail and is available in trial size ($15) vs full size ($40)Also Maybellene Fit Me is pretty amazing bit sinks into lines. Concealer is the same. I love the IT Bye Bye Under eye. But primer I do use and love Baby Skin. It's amazing at pores and holding a matte look in your Tzone, then out of my Tzone I use smashbox photo ready primer even on my under eye, eye lid and lips! No movement! I was complimented by a true makeup artist at a wedding on mine and my daughter's makeup. I did use high-end but nothing moved, dripped, faded or ran all day in 90° heat with full on ugly cry in place lol.
