Spitballin' Cards

Күн бұрын

Baseball cards are a blast to collect. It is no secret that we all want our cards to go up in value, but many collectors argue for and against "investing" in baseball cards. In this video the Spitballin' team dives head first into drafting who we believe are the best "investments" at each MLB position!

Fun video. Fun exercise. Scott wins because... Ohtani. Favorite picks: Ohtani, Betts, Harper, Witt, Tatis, and Skenes. Witt is a 5 tool monster that is getting little pub and Skenes is a Paul Bunyan-esque star that could transcend the game... and pitchers, even hall of fame ones, usually don't matter in the hobby so why not take a chance on the mt rushmore upside.

Goldy, Witt, Trout, Arenado and Altuve are all formidable. Outside of Ohtani, Yordan and Harper, not feeling Scott's team. Ty's team is solid but it also has Marte and Greene. Finally finished watching, I like Jeff’s the best from an investment standpoint. Soto, Judge, Gunnar are massive. Freeman has the best career counting stats out of any position player in this draft. If he gets 3000 hits and retires a dodger his hobby could go nuts. Devers doesn't have the war, but he’s got great counting stats too and he’s still crazy young. Cheating at the highest level and screwing other teams out of a championship is NOT easily forgiven in my opinion...like Bonds the fact they both still deny any wrongdoing makes me sick..if they had fessed up and APOLOGIZED then i would be way more forgiving but until then...i hope they both never see the Hall..

@@briansteeler7146 all of that is true. But the league allowed it all. Who knows how many players were taking stuff - estimates are high. The commissioner of the game who oversaw the steroid era is in the Hall of Fame. I loved watching those games, and enjoyed Bonds’ run to 73. I have no bad feelings toward him, and I’ll tell you right now I’d have taken the same stuff if I was him. Just my two cents!

Jeff here, I considered him as well as I mentioned, but I think he’s just about done, and just don’t see him highly collected now. So I went with Will Smith for the potential upside. Do I think he will have a better career than JT? No. Just taking the chance that maybe he leads the Dodgers to a few World Series titles, spends his whole career in Dodger blue, and starts to be collected by a decent size group. Hey, at that point in the draft, it’s all about upside!
