Not me, I just thought that it explained why some of the hero designs didn't seem all that great, and the plot seemed fairly basic. Realized that it's because the show is as much about the horror aspect as it is about the superhero aspect. At that point I got what the show was going for and settled in for what promised to be much better episodes. Which they definitely delivered on. After the first episode, it definitely gave me a Worm vibe. Which if anyone here is fine with reading a fairly long series, I definitely recommend for anyone who likes Invincible. It's about the length of the Harry Potter series and combines horror and superpowers together really well. A good example of a character from the series is this dude that basically turned into an orange humanoid gecko, which has the ability to make anyone that he touches pass out. From powerful drugs. Yes, he enjoys making use of this power for money and umm, friends with benefits? People make lots of believable choices for what they do, who they team up with, and who they fight. My only problem with it is that it's pretty grim-dark, there is some comedy relief, but even that's pretty dark. Of course, this is why I recommend it when people talk about Invincible and the Boys, not while they're talking about Marvel superhero shows.

1 thing not enough people bring up is that not only does the music stop during the Omni Man fight with the Guardians Of The Globe, but he doesn't say a single word during it, which makes it even more mysterious as to why he kills all of them.

Like there are moments when Spider-Man didnt quip and just stayed silent and those are usually his most intense moments (I remember one time he put his fist through a wall and just pulled someone in and took guys ouy one by one like he was playing Batman)

In the comics which Invincible originated from, Omni-Man kills the Guardians in a 1-Hit K.O. each, but honestly I prefer how the show did it, the Guardians actually putting up a fight against Omni-Man.

The twist in this episode is so good, I loved yalls reaction Also, Omni-Man said he was the sole person from Viltrum who came to Earth, so he's the only Viltrumite there, which is a typical Superhero backstory. The other super heroes and villains have other traditional superhero/villain backgrounds of science experiments gone wrong, coming from other planets, born with weird powers, etc.

It's obviously paralleled by the story of Superman coming from Krypton, which always had this theory of "imagine if he was actually evil instead of good". They're like some of the strongest beings in existence, so their like personal alignment and moral compass are actually pretty important for how their role on Earth would play out.

One of the great successes of this show is making an entire team of superheroes likable enough to where the audience actually expects most of them to be around for a while (in fact, wants them to be around a while), only to immediately kill them off via another character that seemed likable. Hard to pull off the world building and setup this show does in one episode, harder still to immediately succeed at setting up the pins only to willfully knock them down. I like how slow the death of Red Rush is because it not only makes sense given his perception of time, but the audience gets that extra time to be like "what the fuck is going on?" before things get really crazy.

Love this show! One of my favorite aspects of this show is the talent! So many good voice actors, J. K. Simmons as Omni Man, who also voiced Tenzin! Mark Hamill as Art, aka luke skywalker and Fire Lord Ozai. There's Steve Yuen as Mark, who voices Avatar Won and played Glenn in TWD. Star studded. Hope you guys enjoy!

When Omni-Man was explaining his origin, I believe he made note that he was the only viltrumite protecting Earth. Regardless, that has been my assumption. It's also my understanding the world is essentially just like we see in Marvel or DC. There are some heroes and some villains that have powers. Powers which came to them through all sorts of means, just like we've seen with Marvel & DC.🤷🏼‍♂️

This entire show is a classic "what if superman were bad?" troupe, but it's that last question at the end of the first episode that drives the entire plot. Every character has flaws and, like the real world, most don't learn the lesson they need in time to step up. So basically, watch this show as if the superheros and supervillians are as simple and complex as anyone you might find on the street or even the girl you're sitting next to. Also, its funny Lola assumed Omni-Man was evil just like she did Tenzin, same voice actor.

One big change from the comics is that the big scene at the end doesn’t hit until much later. I think like issue 10? So it feels like a normal superhero comic for almost a year. But here they moved up the big scene so you know right away. This won’t be a normal superhero story.

the rest of the guardians are not from Viltrum, I believe they're mostly from Earth. think of it like DC/Justice League -- there's Superman, who's from Krypton and came to Earth (and Kryptonians are all super powerful compared to us), but Earth already also had a bunch of superheroes who were born here or other places, like The Flash and Aquaman and Batman and Wonder Woman. The Guardians are like that, they're mostly from Earth, or other places (like Martian Man being from Mars). also, no one at this point knows that Omni-Man is Mark's dad

I read the comic. I knew what was going to happen with The Guardians of The Globe. I was still left speechless by the horrific violence at the end. Partially because the comic was less gruesome and drawn out but also because seeing it in motion was just horrifying

I love invincible official suit. Imo the difference is that the orange from before was way too "loud". Blue was a much better match with yellow, and the black sorts of balances out the yellow and blue
