So San Diego Comic-Con saw us not only getting the release of an Invincible Season 2 trailer but we also got a special episode of the show released on Prime Video. Titled Invincible presents Atom Eve this perfectly adapts the two issue comic series of the same name. The entry itself tells the origin story for Eve and it centres around her discovering her past along with Elias Brandyworth. In one of the best trailer easter eggs ive ever seen you can actually catch the pair together if you go back to that first season 2 trailer. Sat to the left of the screen we can catch the pair together and the creative team have confirmed that they did this as a tease of what was coming. They even were out here asking about theory time so you know that I couldnt let them down.
Throughout this video we're gonna be going through what happens in the entry and also discussing some of the changes from the comics. The animation is amazing. Especially that last scene with Omniman, no words, just a series of facial expressions that each mean so much. Anger with his son for not gaining powers, the sadness with the thought of losing his family(possibly realizing he does love them to some degree), and then finally what I thought was shame, for what he has to do. At least that’s how I interpreted the scene.

Yeah, it was pure confusion about his own feelings. He's tries to turn on that viltriumite anger and duty, but he can't bring himself to hurt his family. If mark didn't get powers, he's supposed to ditch them and make another. Another viltriumites would have already done that. Possibly even killed their "failed" family. But omniman is constantly delaying the inevitable and praying mark gets his powers so he can stay with him.

I love this last scene. Omni-Man is trying to convince himself that what Debbie is saying isn’t true, because the viltrumitles would have him discard Mark if he never developed powers, so he tries to get angry at what she saying….but then he realises she’s right.

He started toward the stairs to kill them and start over his whole palm over with a new wife and child. But then he decides not to kill them which he doesn’t fully understand bc they are just pets to him. He’s in conflict with his logical side because deep down he does love his son and wife.

i think this is the animation studio flexing (Invincible was their first major project). they had some eyerolling animation choices last season due to budget and time constraints. releasing this is them saying "look at what we can do now".
