I'm a moron. Watched your video several times and missed this crucial point - Spiked Shield does not scale off Melee. So that's why I'm not killing mobs...At least I built enough Armor and Dodge that I should survive the boss. Thanks as always for your incredibly helpful videos, even if I miss really important details from time to time. I just had Mammoth locked in too...whew.

haha oh no! That's so easy to do unfortunately. I actually think the game should highlight stats that improve your weapon in some way - it calls some things out for certain characters but the autobattler mechanic where it highlights existing cards would go a long way.

this is in no way a criticism because i love your guides and theyve helped me a ton but ive gotta say i strongly disagree about the king being weak. i won first time with absolutely no problem and zero t4 items. i found once you get beyond the first few rounds its super easy with the shields. other than that you were spot on. thanks and keep doing your thang!

Thanks for this man - I learned so many things from this! My first try on D5 and I smashed it - getting anvil at ~wave 14 helped :) I died on wave 35 but mainly from being sloppy. King is King!

Treated it like the lucky with shields and things died so fast. In addition, bosses vanished in an instant due to the King's buffs on max weapons. It was rather run. Thanks for the advice!

I, reading comments saying the king is an easy character… I have been massively struggling with him only managed to beat a danger 2 run so far, I just don’t get any weapons over level 1 and they’re never the same weapon. I think king might be easy if you get good shops but I think the game hates me trying to win with him! Got my first danger 5 win today though with the Doctor, now there’s an easy one!

So I've been watching all your class guides, but only after I beat danger 5 with the class, and I'm surprised you feel like King is hard at all. I've done almost all the classes, and King was the first one I won on my first try (I was using fists only), and it was crazy easy. After I watched this vid, and heard you say it was on the harder side I tired again with Lightning shiv (just incase I got lucky on the first try) and I one shot it again with only 5 weapons (4 T4 and 1 T2) at the end lol. I did try a third run with crossbow, but gave up after 10 attempts, that one felt impossible. The thing I do which probably sounds crazy is as soon as I can combine to a T4 I do it, even if I only have 1 weapon after I do it, which is why I only had 5 Lightning shives at the end of that run. Either way I still enjoy all your content 😎

It doesn't seem like you can spawn block the egg aliens, in my experience they just spawn elsewhere.

That's right, that was an error I made in some of these earlier videos - if you stand on the x the alien just spawns elsewhere in the map

Shield you have to unlock by getting a win with the Masochist - can be on any difficulty. If that sounds too annoying, spear is probably the next easiest weapon

Yup, various items and weapons are unlocked by beating wave 20 (any difficulty) with each character.

I swapped out 1 shield for Nuclear Launcher and went to wave 32 lol

Did this on D1 to try it out and got to like wave 39 on endless. Then trying this on D4 and i can't heal at all and I can't figure out why. I have none of the negative issues listed but im not healing. Advice?

You aren't healing at *all,* or just not enough to keep up with the incoming damage? If you aren't healing at all that's definitely a bug and you should try verifying your steam files. If it's just not sufficient to keep up, definitely prioritize rolling for gardens, medical turrets, fairy, sad tomato, and other items that can solve your healing on their own. You can also definitely add in some consumable healing items as long as you don't go too far down on max hp. Hope that helps!

@@Cephalopocalypse There were definitely periods where picking up the tree consumable would not heal me at all (no numbers, no HP bar movement) so I would just slowly get whittled down to zero HP. Couldn't get past wave 8. I'm a new player and trying to get my first D4 clear, thought maybe D4 has a secret hidden "no healing" thing baked in. It didn't happen in D1. I'll try your suggestions. Thank you.

Does Slingshot ever appear for King in the shop? I played yesterday quite a bit and never seen it in the shop

Yeah, a couple of these early videos have some sound issues unfortunately, it's fixed pretty quickly in the next few though
