It’s not a crime to talk about Trauma as a concept a lot. Super heroes are EXTREMELY about trauma. You don’t get a job involved around preventing traumatic things from happening without trauma becoming a major theme of who you are

This should be common sense considering 1 in 10 active EMT workers are suffering from work related PTSD right now. I think the 'Fuck you Viltrumites' thing ties in pretty nicely. Because if you think about it, Viltrum culture in the show is (currently) about the fundamental rejection of bonds. Every Viltrumite is taught that those who are not as powerful and long-lived as them are worth less, that life that does not abide by their order is meaningless. Even other Viltrumites are meaningless if they aren't strong enough. And despite the fact that Nolan has conquered planets before, and probably had extended stays on those planets, it's not until he makes a real connection to someone that he can even begin deprogramming from his beliefs.

Invincible’s second season was successful in emphasising the consequences of a superhero world. It’s not just with omni-man’s actions in season 1 and its impact on mark and Debbie , but even side characters like Rex, Robot, monster girl have there only issues that they have to deal with. It kind of reminds me of how the boys dealt with Hughie’s responses to the consequences of superheroes in season 1, but it feels more consistently earnest and honest. Overall, I enjoyed this season and I’m excited for season 3 as the show made improvements on the story that surprised me despite already having awareness of its events from reading the comics years ago.

It's only natural that trauma comes up in superhero stories since they're either around or the cause of traumatic events nearly constantly, plus there's so many different ways people cope with those events that you have near-infinite writing directions to go in. It's not inherently necessary but it's an easy setup for character growth down the line

Here's my predictions for the past and future of Invincible themes: Season one was the theme of Pride and Envy: - Marks pride in his father, his fathers pride in his empire, the mothers pride of her loving family, the girlfriends envy of mark keeping secrets from her the, marks envy for the powers he doesn't have yet, and the fathers emvy for the good natured life mark has that's free from his empire. Season 2's theme is grief: Grief is what follows after the fall that comes from pride. And you have shown quite extensively where they showcase that grief. Seasons 3's theme, believe it or not, will be Hope and Recovery: Grief is when we are at our lowest point. The only way forward from there is up. Be that through hard work and self improvement, or something coming into your life to give you hope. Sure you might be challenged, but in an arc of hope, you come out of it bitter sweet. Not a total loss. Season 4's theme, Rage and Revenge: Hope is different than pride. While pride is self-assurance, hope is a crutch that can be taken at any moment. One that you desperately rely on. . . and when its gone, you always have someone to blame for it and take it out on. I predict a great tragedy between seasons 3 and 4. That's about as far as I can guess. If I had to guess though, season 5 would be inner darkness: Just as recovery is what follows grief, a dark version of recovery is what follows rage and revenge. Something angry and ambitious, hurt, and letting that hurt drive you to fix yourself the wrong way. If that's the case, then season 6 would be acceptance and embracing the whole, good and bad. SIDE NOTE: I have not read the source material, I know nothing of the events beyond season 2. These are guesses in narrative thematics exclusively. No spoilers in this post. Consider this your non-spoiler warning.

for a long time I've been dealing with mental problems and looking back I feel like I was more open to reliving the past than recovering from it. because I've constantly asked myself internally "what would I be if this never happened to me" and a fear of changing myself for the better, because the pains I have now I have almost become comfortable with and familiar to them and I don't want re-learn an entire new pain and that has prevented me from recovering from something that I fell like everyone today is telling me isn't that bad, and it probably wasn't but I've just been making myself relive it over and over. in the short term it will hurt to recover but it will hurt even more to draw it out for fear of change.

Removing feelings of safety for those we thought had it, cutting through audience expectation of certainty when it came to the character's identities, values, and even existences themselves, and shifting the light from those we expect to those we ignore or think less important (like Donald, and Allen, or even Immortal who I thought was just gonna be there and mean nothing to the plot... jokes on me).

One genuinly welcome surprise was Amber. I despised her in Season 1, she was self endulgent, manipulative and toxic to an absurd degree while being portrait as this amazing can-do-no-wrong. In Season 2 she seems to have changed for the better. Instead of everything being required to adapt to her, she changes her views, especially when it comes to marks superhero work. She seems actually likable and does acknowledge that her past view was flawed. And the "I feel like I am failing Mark/Amber" scene demonstrated that perfectly. She went from a solid 2/10 (I want to toss the writer of that character of a cliff-Tier) to a 8/10 (A flawed but understandable well-written character) and that isn't higher primarily because of the baggage of season 1. It really seems as if the writers took the critique of Season1 Amber to heart.

@lukeflanders2827 ай бұрын
@@caiden2527 But there are setups that are going to be wild in Season 3. Literally every comic reader that I see on these videos say that things get INSANE after this point, and we already got setups from the show itself. Anissa says that a much more dangerous viltrumite will come and fight Mark soon if he sees that he hasn't gotten the planet ready for the empire yet. Allen and Nolan are getting ready to break out of the prison(and I heard somebody important shows up later in there), not to mention seeing what happens to Oliver, since we know he grows up rapidly. Not a lot of crazy things happened in this season, but that's because it was focusing more on the character writing for those who haven't got it yet and paying off the setups from the first season(Sequids and Dr Seismic). As for the animation, we don't really know the behind the scenes situation on that. A lot of people were expecting like MAPPA levels of animation quality but forget they were working absolutely insane hours, sometimes without going home, all throughout the week. I'd rather have this than giving the animators the MAPPA treatment. They also might not have focused that much on the animation because the events in this season were a lot less significant versus what comes next, so Season 3 might very well be animated better for those crazy events. And besides, I heard that Season 3 is already almost done, so the wait now might be them just polishing the animation and other things. And the more popular the series gets, the more money they'll obviously get for the next seasons.

Eve was wrong and didn't learn the lesson she had to learn. Idealism is good and all but useless in front of reality and consequences are not something you can put in a score board instead they are weights that happens after every action. Your ideals need to be balnced. Yes it's dangerous to dismiss the harm you may cause while trying to do good, but it is also unhealthy to dismiss the good you can do for fear of causing harm, especially for a superhero. She acted recklessly, but overcorrected from her mistake to cowardice. Just because she needed to be reaffirmed on her value in the world, doesn't mean she forgot what she learned from the mistake. She needed to learn caution from her accident, and then to learn that ruminating in the past indefinitely doesn't save anyone.
