I don't know if he picked up that he gave himself away there, or he might have been more guarded when she left the room right after that. But if he did, he certainly didn't think she had the guts to go through with actually killing him. She's weak, in his eyes. She came back to him and he pretends he's a changed man, like so many abusers do.

I agree. I DO love how she turned this word (and his method of murdering her sister) back on him, when SHE becomes the invisible woman and slashes his throat, ending it with a "surprise" of her own. I think she was also the one to position the camera to precisely pick up the whole exchange, even making it appear that he slit his own throat and she called in a suicide. And notice, she even makes it a point to get out of the camera's sight before that triumphant Cheshire cat smile when she hangs up from dialing 911.

Mate, this woman was justified in taking the course of action that she eventually took. This demon/ narcissistic sociopath took things to a level that was beyond human endurance for this woman. To say that she's a monster 👹 worse than him and to try and switch genders to justify the argument that she is just as bad, is too stupid to even put forth. Any person male or female who went through what this woman went through would very likely have done the same thing. And NO she did not threaten to harm the detective. He witnessed up close and personal the torment she went through and he understood on a basic humane level that this degenerate was not going to stop unless other measures were taken. Something to also note is that when they sit down for dinner, Adrian has provided Cece with food and beverages such as sushi, steak and wine. Cece is pregnant. Wine is already an obvious contender for what you should not consume while pregnant, it has an entire syndrome dedicated to why it's not a safe thing to do, and sushi and steak are generally deemed as unsafe meals to consume while pregnant due to both foods being some form of raw, give or take depending on steak, while sushi is raw fish. With all of this in mind, this paints a picture that Adrien either doesn't care about nor want the child, and is actively trying to kill Cece's baby while it's in the womb, or the more likely option, Adrian doesn't care enough to do any research as to what a pregnant woman can or cannot eat and drink while pregnant. Honestly just another great way of showing how much of a cardinal abuser Adrian is. While he is actively trying to manipulate her into coming back to him, he can't even be bothered to make her a meal that won't actively kill her baby.

God, that look in his eyes at 3:03 when she breaks down. I don't think we even have a word for that combination of triumph, hunger, control and lust. Him giving her that semi-confession immediately afterwards shows he was perfectly happy for her to know that he did everything (and probably didn't suspect that she was recording him, or he'd turn her talking about "honesty" back on her), he just wasn't willing to have her look him in the eye and negotiate. Once she's broken down crying like a scared child, he's very willing to play the generous lord and reward her pleading, and thus positively reinforce her submission.

I love how the movie does give you the clues in the end that it really was Adrian. The fact that Adrian clearly made multiple suits since his brother and Cecilia each had one, the fact that his suit was damaged and flickering which along with the fact that it would have been impossible to beat Cee to James and Sid’s house on foot while she made it by car, the fact that there wasn’t another car at the scene of Tom’s death to show he got there on foot, the height difference between both Griffin brothers as the Invisible Man who fought the guards was clearly larger and more imposing than the one that attacked Sid, also that the first Invisible Man was strong enough to take on multiple guards while a kid and a woman killed the second, and you can even feel the frustration in Adrian’s voice when he’s trying to convince Cecilia to trust him and that smug smirk of satisfaction when it seemed like she did. Not to mention the movie clearly showed how dangerous Adrian is at the beginning where he was so angry that Cee tried to run that he broke through a car window with his bare fist to get to her while Tom was clearly spineless and submissive to his clearly more frightening brother. Everything clearly points to Adrian when you go back to the film and take note of the scenes logically. And the ending is so great, not just because of how satisfying his demise is but also that he sort of created a bigger monster in Cee, and I’m a sucker for “The Monster Creates a Bigger Monster” concept. Freaking love this movie! 😍🤩🫥

The movie was not a success. I saw it on TV. Last year. The scene where he stalks her and that jump scares her was the only effective scare of the movie. I know the original is a very dated movie effects wise. But the og movie was based on the book. Hg Wells was involved in the screenplay. The scenes where he takes his revenge. Are very tense and Claude raines is beyond superb as the original invisible man. There is a redemption arc at the end. In this version. The tech inventor is horrible bully and an abuser and killer, a stalker. It was made for a progressive audience.

I love the final exit of her walking out of the house like, she can finally rest her mind knowing that he will never bother her again. The whole film almost makes the audience believe she's delusional and traumatized by her husband's abusive possessive nature, when in reality she knew the whole time what kind of man he truly was and what he's capable of.
