With the shit that's around 2day, yeh - of course. With a few people saying, that MH added in the lyrics "I'm better than Oasis" and can clearly hear him saying it.. must been on drugs. But Inxs are and were definitely better than Oasis. And so were U2. That could be said of any of U2's major hits back in 1980s, would be hits now too. Even with Simple Minds.

People throw around the term "underrated" a lot, but Michael Hutchence and INXS truly are underrated. Hutchence's voice is right up there with Mich Jagger and Freddie Mercury in terms of "front man" status. This band had one great song after another. What a sound.
@davewebbtheauthor2 жыл бұрын
I agree that "underrated" is used too much and inappropriately at times in KZbin comments. I think that goes for your post as well, unfortunately. INXS is one of the top Australian acts in history, selling over 75 million records, with several #1 songs and albums, at least 37 major music awards, and nearly a half-billion views on KZbin. So, I think they've been rated just right.

Hutchence and INXS were never underrated. Their concerts overseas in the Americas continent, England, and even in parts of Europe were highly appreciated and deeply respected in those regions, as well as back home here in Australia. They were known in the first half of the 1990s as one of the few best bands in the world to perform live. Even by some experts in music, INXS were being hailed as the best band to perform live at the time, after the release of both 'Kick' and 'X' albums. No one understands the word 'underrated', even tho it gets thrown around and mentioned alot. The band has sold many albums and soldout shows and achieved accolades in many music awards across the globe.

@TopazShane5 жыл бұрын
@@underscore2824 You're misinterpreting what I'm trying to say. I'm not comparing his singing skills to Morrison because in that regard, they're definitely two different people and MH is the better of the two. But MH moves like Morrison and caresses the mic like JM did in so many ways and that doesn't take anything away from MH. The song is amazing. INXS has a bunch of really good songs, but this is right up there with the top three or four in my opinion. The chorus is devastating, and the passion in his voice is off the charts. He doesn’t have the greatest range in the world that’s the only thing that probably keeps him from being mentioned with people like Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury, it’s a decent range and the chorus more than compensates for it. Just a great great song and I love how they snuck in that jib at oasis too. Oasis deserves every bit of it after that nasty trick they pulled on him.

He is up there with Jagger and morrison. Just a notch below and only because the music the doors and stones put out is just more and better. Music is subjective. Saying one is better than another is so difficult. INXS is a great band that released some great music. The doors and stones released iconic music in an iconic era. What hurts INXS, and nothing they can do about it, is they defined the 80's. The 80's is a decade not known for great music. Some will rip me for it...and the 80's had some great music, but compared to the late 60's or early 90's not so much.

My favorite singer and frontman. Great band, too. This whole album is strong, not just this song.

I was about 8 yrs old when a pen pal from Perth Australia 🇦🇺 sent me a tape of a band that started making waves there. The min I heard their music I knew this was a band for life, I grew up with this music. Relied on it for the bad times and some of my best times of my life. Till this day they still get me through bad s@$! as I near 50 yrs old. I loved these guys & they feel like family. I was lucky enough to see them multiple times in my life. Even seen 1 concert with J.D.(met him) as the frontman, not the same but still a damn good show! Now I just collect everything I can get my hands on. 😉 So yeah best band ever with the best frontman of all times Michael Hutchence. He will forever be missed & my heart still breaks to this day, tremendous loss. Andrew is still making music, very different than INXS, but its pretty awesome! 😘💖💕😍🔥🎵🎶🔥

Hutchence is a legend and he always will be and he knew it. They made some great music and I reckon the musicianship within the band also was great. God Bless.
