INXS is one of my all-time favorite bands...oddly I’m a metalhead! 🤘These guys were too phenomenal for me to ignore, even though I never listened to anything you could dance to!🤘My musical taste all these years later has broadened, and I listen to a little bit of everything. When I listen to INXS, it doesn’t sound dated to me at all. It sounds fresh and new, not 20 something years old. Does anyone else think so?

The Kick album particularly was way ahead of its time in it's confluence of rock and funk and top notch production. 33 years later it holds up extremely well. My kids love Guns in the Sky and think Need You Tonight is really cool. Michael Hutchence and the boys are simply timeless. Very underrated in the history of Rock!

Inxs was a band you were kind of obligated to hate if you liked metal (which I did at the time) but then I noticed that the cutest girls were into them so I said fuck it and let my metal friends judge me. Binge watching INXS, starting with a documentary on Michael. I grew up with INXS and lost track of them after Michael died. No replacing him and the band just lost it's electrifying presence and life force. So many greats gone too soon. Extremely talented, live hard, die hard - they cannot seem to temper their intensity, it consumes them, and the world is too much for them. This is one of the best rock n roll songs of all time. Could loop this song all day long. The great rock n roll classics have never been bested, Aerosmith, the Stones, Def Leppard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, ... so many others, and INXS, of course. I miss the days when these greats were in their prime...

I remember 1988 sitting upstairs in my friends house, parents were out, his older brother had just got Kick on CD. There were about 8 kids including the older brother downstairs watching Predator on VHS. I wanted to watch it but I'd heard a few tracks of Kick earlier on the hi-fi. I was upstairs listening to Kick on CD with headphones. Changed my fucking life. Untouchable to this day, especially the subject matter. Glorious times, that entire album on a young mind. Kiss always sounded good, as did G'nR and 'Jovi, these guys had it though.

Hell yeah, man. I can recall heading over to a friends house in the summer of '88 after Junior year in high school. He told me he knows a guy who'd play a tabletop D&D campaign with us. The nerds we were, we head over to this guy's house. I guess this kid was around our age, but had a different style about him than I was used to seeing in suburban Illinois at the time. Anyways, he takes us through the house where he put on the Kick album before leading us out the side door to the back of the house, where I look up and there's this hot chick dangling her legs down from a treehouse. I'm like, this is the coolest dude I've ever known! Lol. Good times, man - good times.
