I agree with you on that. I think he sounds like Mick Jagger voice in a way I bet you he could easily cover the Rolling Stones music. It’s too bad that he’s gone the way and the time it happened. INXS was featured prominently in Season 2 of HBO's hugely successful show Euphoria. That is what led me to seek out this video, in fact. Watching those episodes set to INXS warmed my heart. I'm surprised that hasn't catapulted them back into the spotlight like Netflix's Stranger Things did for Kate Bush.

I listen to Mystify and I immediately fly back to 8th grade, 1987/88, sweet happy times so full of great memories. I sure was a happy teenager back in the day, and INXS was no doubt part of the soundtrack of the best years of my life.

Michael Hutchence certainly had a gift for writing memorable lyrics. His voice was shaped by the bars he performed in before he went professional. Together with Andrew Farriss, who was a very skilled composer, they created a strong duo, supplemented by other skilled musicians. INXS songs are full of energy mainly thanks to MH, lyrics that are not cheesy and strong melodies. My personal favorites are Never Tears Us Apart and Mystify.

One of my most favorite songs ever!! It is timeless and always brings me up, reminds me of being 16 again singing in the mirror and dancing to the beat. I loved INXS so much! Kick brings me back to my senior year in high school. Every song on that album was brilliant. Micheal had the gift of writing lyrics that weren't cheesy and you had to look a little "between the lines". In addition, he was probably quite a strong personality with a lot of charisma, and he could take the text as a story and tell it. Which I've probably only seen with Fish (ex Marillion).
