Oh, please. The music of the 80s was for the most part just as shallow as everything else associated with the Greed is Good era. Catchy, clever and definitely better than disco but deep it was not. For every "Personal Jesus" there was a "Rio" or "Safety Dance" or "I Ran" or "You Spin Me" and on and on. Hell, even Bowie found banality in the decade of excess.

Darrin, I think it's possible that Hutchence was assassinated by the same man who stopped him from visiting his kid, Bob Geldof. Bob Geldolf is an honorary knight commander, a secret agent. It looks like some of the American and Australian celebrities since the 1960s have been killed by British-Canadian-Australian agents who receive knighthood and assured wealth in the dubious killings & overdoses. If Morrison and the Doors had not died mysteriously in France, the Beatles (leading the "British Invasion") would have never been as popular in the 1970s to today. Elvis was killed at age 42 by a Dutchman who was an illegal immigrant. American talent is a threat to some Europeans and British performers who either cannot keep up or are falling behind the forefront & trends of their craft whether music or writing.
