Did you put the cap/plugs back in the heater and filter before running the air compressor?
@Inyopools Жыл бұрын
Yes, you would need to put the plugs back in to seal the system for the air compressor. Many pumps have two drain plugs, so leave one out for the air compressor to port into.

I have an aggregate pool and was told (by Leslie's Pool Supply) the aggregate MUST stay wet all winter because dry plaster can crack and chip. In your video your water is a couple inches down the aggregate leaving some "dry" at the top. Is this not an issue?

This is an old way of closing pools. There are updated tools and products that make this much quicker and safer.
@InyopoolsАй бұрын
Ok, can you be a bit more specific? What equipment or techniques should we use for future closing videos?

Can I leave my pool empty through winter? It’s a concrete in-ground pool.

my pool company doesnt do any cleaning and charge 550 per open close terrible
@InyopoolsАй бұрын
Yikes! A bad price for a bad service equals a bad time. Hopefully, you try closing the pool yourself this year.
@bentley625Ай бұрын
Mines $450 but then they tack on $150 due to a connected spa even tho it'd just one more pipe. I just did it myself not bad at all
@B_High_ManАй бұрын
@@Inyopoolslol why are you hating? $550 is an average price for closing and no one cleans the pool for free before closing.

Never drain water out of a liner pool to close it. Smh

Not even just below the skimmer? How do You make Sure the skimmer line stays empty?
@jocoloco13202 ай бұрын
@@B_High_Manyou can drain it below the skimmer. Don’t go too much below that.
@JimJones-h3k2 ай бұрын
@@B_High_Man skimmer block (available on Amazon, pool stores), stops water from entering skimmer. Vacuum out line with pump lid off. Once clear (should hear and feel air being sucked through at pump) then pour gallon of anti freeze in line. Plug hole in bottom of skimmer with Gizmo (also available at pool stores Amazon) he. Remove skimmer block. Then put lid back on pump and hook air compressor up through bottom plug and cap return lines while it’s blowing air. All water blown out. Blow heater and then main drain. If needed. Pretty simple once you understand it

@williamhiman8017 I use a skimmer cover when I winterize my pool. It covers the opening of the skimmer which allows you to shop vac the skimmer with out lowering the pool level. Best gadget I ever bought for closing my pool
@86baydizzleАй бұрын
@williamhiman8017 there's attachments that you screw into the base of the skimmer that keep water out of the lines for the cold weather. They look like the water tanks from big water guns.
