Hello Leah B, I have a question; My job in the Navy: (Nuclear Weaponsman - "NW" '57-'62, GunnersMate Technician (Bomb) - "GMT(B)" '62'-86, Weapons Technician - "WT" '86-'92), was for maintaining nuclear weapons, which exposes us to ionizing radiation, (we all wore dosimeters), but there isn't ANYTHING posted at the VA about possible coverage for us, or the other services that worked on/maintained these weapons systems - Without Shielding! FYI, I was in the Navy from '84-'92. Thank You.

Hey sir if your dosimetry shows exposure outside of a safe range that would be evidence to support a case related to a medical condition linked to radiation exposure. You may want to follow up with the VA's department on occupational exposures that I discussed in the video as they can discuss this with you further.

Ironic... I'm also a retired Over the road Trucker and back in 1995 or so I hauled Radio-Active cargo from a GE Plant in South Carolina to a Replenishing Plant in Southern Kentucky.

I was in a Hawk Missile outfit in Germany. As a Fire control (16e20) vet from 1968-1970 Working in an environment of high-power radars and in a control van surrounded by Raytheon tubes and constant noise as well. I have several of the conditions listed and just have one question, would this qualify me for disability for each condition? Thank you for your response in advance.

I am not sure sir. The VA would need to acknowledge that you had to much exposure and then relate that exposure to your conditions

Hello, I was stationed at Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota for over 2 years and was exposed to Radon. The EPA has studied this area & has determined it to have very high levels of Radon. With such evidence from a highly recognized organization could this be considered a presumptive condition for lung cancer? I did develop lung cancer & had the lower lobe of my left lung removed for what I believe the exposure to Radon is wholly or part of the reason I got cancer in the first place. I did file a claim with the VA (still in process) and was wondering, in your opinion, if you believe this to be something that would fall under a presumptive condition? How hard would it be to correlate this condition with my military service? After all, I wouldn't have even been in this part of the country if Uncle Sam hadn't put me there. Any info you may have would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Hi sir I am very sorry to hear this. The VA has very specific information regarding what is considered a presumptive condition. If you take a look at the video it will provide you the information to review this specific issue

I always select MRI'S over ultrasounds or CT scans. I can only hope it's a 'safe bet." 🤞🏽

Do Naval nuclear power plant operators qualify for ionizing radiation presumptives? I have documented radiation exposure and classified a radiation worker as a Navy Nuke.

The only presumptive radiation issues are listed on the VA's website that we discussed in the video.

PA Leah B…could help me understand something…I’m 100% PT as of Nov 2022. I’m turning 68 in March. Do I need to attend annual VA exams without red flagging me for a rating reduction review. I’m already seeing my own doctor through Medicare. I was never clear on this.

Hello friend. I do not think that is something that would trigger you to be reduced but to be honest I can't answer that with 100% certainty. You may want to follow up with a legal professional just to be sure. Sorry about that!
