Greetings Leah B. I just filed - Notice Of Disagreement form (PTSD Depression 10182) to the Department of Veterans Affairs. My appeal at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals has been docketed. I was told the next step in the process is the VA will have a third party doctor contact meto set up the Compensation and Pension (Video conference) exam for each condition I reported. My question is what can I expect by way of questions that will be asked Thank you Jerry

Hi Jerry best of luck to you with this exam. Have you seen my video for "what happens in a C&P exam for PTSD"? This may be helpful to watch.

If I am rated 10% disability for gastrointestinal disease due to being hospitalized in Saudi Arabia in 1991 in tent city for two nights. Since I’ve returned I’ve had gastrointestinal issues. I’ve had multiple tests done over the years to include recently. I put in an intent to file increase because the episodes are more frequent and severe. I have been diagnosed with Epigastric pain, Gerd, IBS and gallstones (next they want to remove my gallbladder giving me a 50/50 chance of some relief. I went to my private doctor and got an updated diagnosis of IBS. I’m stuck on if I should be filing for IBS as a primary from my gulf war gastrointestinal disease or continue with my intent to file increase for the gastrointestinal disease. Also, would IBS be a secondary to the gastrointestinal disease? Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Penny thank you for reaching out. Those are some great questions. It would be really difficult to understand without reviewing the entirety of the case. Also, from a legal perspective/filling perspective I am not really an expert on that specifically, you may want to connect with a VSO or an attorney. I am sorry to not be able to provide a better response but I wish you the best of luck with this and thank you for watching

Hello, I just received a overall rating of 80% by the VA, -Camp Lejeune (PACT), I contracted Bladder Cancer & Prostate Cancer. I was rated 50% for PTSD, and other mental disorders. Question: Is it acceptable by the VA, for me to ask the Phycologist who did the examine, to write a NEXUS or letter..... in support of my DISABILITY UNEMPLOYABILITY- Claim? I assume h'e's contracted by the VA. I believe it would be acceptable under VA Directive 1134(2). Thanks for all the help you have afford us Vet's

The VA conceded I had JP8 exposure and other exposure, developed peripheral neuropathy and my VA Dr. wrote she felt it was toxin related, and the VA still denied it. After receiving my DBQ's on a FOIA request, I found the VA denied several conditions which VA contracted Dr's found service connected.

Thank you for this video, I've had 20% (10%) each knee service connected. I joined in July 79 and left the Army in July 1992 and I am now having trouble with my knees but also my lower back, ankles, and numbness in my feet. I know I should have gone back and had an evaluation long ago. I got busy with Life. ( Alpha Co. 3/5 Inf. Bn (Airborne) Fort Kobe, Panama, Central America. I"m Way Overdue...

This past month I pursued just this thing. I got conflicting stories on seeking community care. Bottom line if the VA is too far or cant provide it you can get a referal. If VA can provide it you cant get a referal. I needed a full knee replacement surgery last yr & was approved but needed to keep working because I couldnt afford not to. 2 months ago I quit wk with real bad pain. I was told yes Im a candidate & approved by VA for it but I was told in so many words its not bad enough yet. Everyone blew me off which ticked me off as I cant work (carpenter for 25 yrs). So I called my Senator, suddenly I was offered the referal & now everyone was answering my calls & even calling me to see if everything was to my liking! Praise Jesus its a miracle! All joking aside, it shouldnt have to be like this but sadly sometimes it is. Im sticking with the VA though for the surgery because Ive only ever received the best care in my life. Im now on a minimum 3 month wait list thats how backed up they are. Maybe in Jan... Its September! Money will be tricky till Jan, downright scarey but no choice Ive put this off for too long as it is. Im 70% so its free & for that I am truly grateful. The SFVA patient experience office is a complete joke Ann Wolf never even responded to my multiple messages. Unsat! Isnt that what shes paid to do?

there comes a time as we age that new glasses won't help and you may have cataracts. VA did both my eyes one month a part and it was great. Bit they should tell you that even after cataracts removal which they correct for distance, with new lenses and give you reading glasses, your distance vision can change in one or both eyes again. Then they gave new glasses to bring you back to 20/20. good video

My case for DIC is an example of what you mention about COVID. In-service strep infection led to post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis with secondary hypertension Hypertension led to type 2 diabetes and later hypertensive heart disease Then COVID infection was made worse by hypertension, hypertensive heart disease, and type 2 diabetes leading to death from acute hypoxic respiratory failure, AKI *acute kidney injury*, and cardiac arrest

I did my ptsd exam yesterday, and I feel like I may have failed it.. When it was going on I kept spacing out, I made sure to give things like how im not getting enough sleep due to all the nightmares that started after the death of my friend, but that also my relationships have kind of dwindled from my interest completely disappearing for things i use to enjoy.. the social impairment I think I got right but the occupational I didn't even mention.. about how im missing work alot from just wanting to sleep and not being able to.. during the interview he did mention under his breath a few times, he said he could service connect it, which was nice to hear, but also when he asked if i had questions i asked him what his findings were, his exact words was ptsd a maybe but without a shadow of a doubt major depressive disorder shines through.. so now im worried that the va will deny it just because i filed for ptsd. or if it is allowed they give a rating that's not good because of all the things i forgot to mention. I really wish I knew what to expect because im terrified.

While in SEAL Training an instructor stepped/jumped onto my hip during a stretch which was not stretching to his liking....He stepped off when I screamed and he realized my hip was going nowhere. I have pretty severe FAI and cannot bend over at the waist hardly at all....Would I connect this through something else? Or could it be a direct connection, I never had treatment in service for my hips...

Looking for advice. When I retired 9 years ago, my VA ratings included a deferment for headaches pending completion of a VA medical opinion. I was never called or scheduled for that VA medical opinion. Presently, my headaches are much more frequent and severe. Is it advisable to file a new, secondary, or supplemental claim for the headaches and why would one be better than the others? I do have service connected cervical spine issues that I believe are the cause of the most of the headaches. I'm getting a neurological diagnosis soon to support the claim. Is it possible to get back pay for the 9 years?

Those are very tough questions and really depends on the specifics of your case. I am not a legal professional so it is not really an area that I am able to speak on. Have you considered following up with an accredited legal professional?

Seeing a common thread in comments I'll respond generically. VA is broken. When your vision is involved get it done , VA or otherwise. Medicare Medicaid County Health or get a job and pay for it. You have no sense like sight.
