@@ioriOki Holy shit this is from Angel? Wooow. Horrific. Been working with JPR Imports in NJ and I know they would never send out something like this. Jim notices every little thing that could cause an issue hahaha. The tuner Wilmer is very discerning as well.

This series is turning out to be just what I hoped for. Reminds me a little of the style and approach of Uncle Rich back in the kitchen knife era. 👍

6:10 Years ago I had a lead-acid battery leak in my car's engine bay, even though it was mounted in the stock tray it still made a mess, corroded some parts, and ate away some paint. I replaced it with an AGM battery, and in hindsight I should have spent the extra $50 or $100 whatever it would have cost to avoid the lead-acid battery in the first place.

We gotta save up for an antigravity here soon.
@scotty305 Жыл бұрын
@@ioriOki I think Antigravity has the feature where the battery will disconnect to avoid draining itself down below 11V when the car sits for a long time. I really like that idea.

The self adjusting 12mm open wrench
@802Garage Жыл бұрын
11:23 Wooow power cable routed right through a sharp hole in sheet metal. That coulda burned down the whole car eventually. Black cable too which makes it so easy to identify as carrying +12V. With a methanol line that could rub through right nearby too! Very nice. The ground location was probably sufficient, but all of the grounding was now through the bolt threads alone. There was no bare metal contact to the lug except for the bolt itself. Plus, yes, it does technically compromise the seat holding, though it likely would never matter. The old crimp and solder didn't look the best either. Whoever worked on this car needs to learn a lot to say the least. Your work was a massive improvement.
@tsherwoodrzero Жыл бұрын
Thank you for mentioning these massive "install" issues. I was trying to convey it, but it wouldn't let me put it in for some reason. Gotta say in my 10+ years of being a RX7club moderator, that "relocation" the not-so-unknown shop did was by far the worst I've seen. Between this and the other items they failed at, I'm surprised it wasn't on fire already. Imagine a 35 lbs projectile moving at a velocity of 50mph, while trying to ignite everything and spewing sulfuric acid INSIDE a car while you're in it? And all that's between it and you is a 3mm piece of plastic. Please do me a favor DJ, get the "guy" that did this and rub his nose in it while going "Nooo" like you're disciplining a bad puppy. This is the only appropriate use of such a method, period. And before you proceed any further, I have a sticky thread in the RX7club 3rd gen section (Akagis_White_Comet). I'd like to take a MUCH closer look at this before any more work is attempted so it can be "unf*cked" the right way. A lot was changed between Version 1, 2 and 3 (93, 94 and 95 in the US) and not fully understanding the differences WILL make your life a nightmare on this car.

@@tsherwoodrzero Weird. I left another reply comment that didn't go through as well. Anyways yes that "mechanic" definitely needs their nose rubbed in it. I'd demand a refund from a shop that did dangerous work like that.

@@802Garage This is why the Treble Damages statute exists in some states like Michigan. Steve Lehto can explain it far better than I can, as he is both a car guy and attorney that specializes in consumer law matters like this.
