iOS 18.0.1 Build: 22A3370 Battery Life / Drain / Performance Test
The final release of iOS 18.0.1 (Build 22A3370) was made available on October 3rd, 2024. Devices were updated to this build and given 21 hours to stabilize before testing. I ensured there was minimal CPU activity before running the test, confirming no background processes were active.
Test Conditions:
Display brightness set to 25%, with auto-brightness disabled.
All devices configured identically and connected to the same access point.
Geekbench Battery Test Explanation:
Geekbench 4 measures battery life by running processor-intensive applications, providing a consistent workload. It generates a score based on the work done while the battery discharges and the time taken for this discharge.
The test can be run in two modes:
1. Full Discharge Mode: From 100% to 0% battery for high confidence in battery performance.
2. Partial Discharge Mode: For 3 hours. If stopped after 10 minutes, the result is saved and can be uploaded.
Scores from methods other than Full Discharge Mode offer medium confidence, with longer tests being more reliable. Higher scores indicate better performance, with double the score representing double the performance.

@@tomatohh_ Ok thanks! Because battery life on my 15 pro (purchased 2 months ago) hasn’t been so good as I thought. It looks like there is a constant leakage of the battery, so it drain slowly even if I don’t use it.

@@decafale about the standby time, when your phone is on the table doing nothing overnight, is sure gets better, right now im losing like 3-4% overnight, where previously on ios 17, its like +- 10% each night

I’d say it’s a bug and only maybe affects A15 Bionic chip (IPhone 13) .Apple don’t specifically try to plan obsolescence. Otherwise they wouldn’t have give XS/XR another year.

@@blackteenz2575I have exactly same concern like you. i have 15 pro with 17.7 and this test won’t give me any useful advice because the 15 pro has a completely different chipset than the regular 15, therefore it might have a very different result. i think i will stick to 17.7 until we get a public 18 stable version across all or at least most of the devices.
