I do not want to update to the betas, I just wanna update when the official release comes. But it really depends on our opinions if we want to. So yeah hahaha. @@alisoncrone4758 Yes so this will come with IOS 18 in September in like two weeks or so. However for you to use it your carrier would have to support it, so it may take time for that though it shouldn’t be that long.

I sent a video I took at Disney World and was able to send it to my friend who used a S21 Ultra and it still retained its high quality! I’m happy for this, now I can swap back between my OnePlus Open and my wife can’t complain she cant send me videos of my son’s swim class 😅

People on the Android platform have to be using google messages or it won’t work. For example if they’re using the native Samsung message app it won’t work, as will only send as an SMS. Most of the people I know using android device use google messages and it works fine, but the ones that don’t, it doesn’t work.

RCS only kicks in when you're texting with Android users or if iMessage is unavailable for some reason. It functions similarly to how SMS/MMS works on the iPhone.

iMessage is used between iPhone users. RCS for Android users and probably used if someone disables iMessage for whatever reason. Then SMS as a fallback.

RCS on iOS does NOT support reactions. What you‘re seeing is the good old SMS reaction text parsing happening (that both iOS and Google Messages added a while ago). It, for example, does not work when both sides have different locales set (or does not work in some languages).

The difference between IPhone and Android is when you have an IPhone you still need to go to Android to do certain things. But when you just have an Android you never need an IPhone for anything. Just my opinion from personal experience 💯

Does it allow iPhones to receive messages data is off on one iPhone or both. This has been a huge issue where messages from iPhone can only be received when both phones have cellular data or wifi on - basically sending text only thorough iMessage rather than plain cellular with data off - I am in Canada

When we do a scheduled message, will it be sent even if we lose service? Seems like it should be uploaded as soon as you schedule it, and then it would send at the scheduled time as long as you don’t cancel it, regardless of your service. But I haven’t found any info to confirm if it works like this. I’m thinking for camping etc. schedule an emergency text along the lines of: “if you receive this text, something happened. Etc etc”
