I feel like Apple have abandoned work on CarPlay. These are not new features that users are asking for. It’s about time CarPlay became customisable. I’m bored with its look. They have concentrated on the developer side and done nothing for the end user

Its on purpose. They want it to be non distracting and just functional. They dont want a ton of features etc, but as simple as possible. But plenty of features coming on next version. Though still only developer side. More integration with the car

I doubt this will work long term as car makers are not going to let Apple design their entire infotainment system when many car buyers will be android users. It makes no sense whatsoever. There’s also the fact that many manufacturers produce integrated screens that make car plays proposed systems look amateur

On Apple Maps is the ability to have 1) audio instructions and alerts, 2) just alerts, and 3) no audio instructions or alerts. What do I tell Siri to switch between/select one of these options?

Carplay is only on your phone, see carplay as an monitor attatched to your phone, its running completly off the iPhone

I’ve noticed a bug with T-Mobile and CarPlay where the 5G stand-alone voice doesn’t seem to be working. As soon as I disconnect from CarPlay or use my AirPods, the clarity of the voice call immediately improves. Not sure if this is the case with wireless CarPlay or not but this is currently seeming to be the issue with wired CarPlay.

There was mention that you have to connect your CarPlay wirelessly to get all of the new CarPlay features. Just curious before I start shopping for a new Dash Cam. I plug up the iPhone so I can use WiFi for my Dash Cam. If connect to CarPlay wirelessly, then my Dash Cam doesn’t work.

Have you seen the problem with your phone was connected to the car sync system and then as you’re talking you disconnect, but the phone does not disconnect. It goes back to the speakers on the phone.

Have you checked your usb cable? Maybe it’s bent somewhere and a wire is getting cracked. Buy a new one at big lots or Ollie’s for $3-$4 bucks see if that is it.

It’s not offered by Porsche. It’s kind of a hack that you have to put in to the system itself to get it to work.

I smaller known feature that changed completely with IOS 17.5 was Siri Eyes Free. Before the update Siri would read me back the message I spoke to her before sending it. Now it just sends it regardless so can’t mess up the message or you’re screwed. Can’t say I like the new one it works. My car is a 2017 Toyota Corolla So I hope they keep this around even tho they are moving more towards car play
