@gbsailing943615 сағат бұрын
If you think about it, the unknown messages folder IS JUST THAT! Google's spam folder will still have to be scanned through to make sure you are not deleting anything from someone you know - here you are doing just the same thing, except it's called 'unknown messages', which it not only technically correct, but more user friendly to boot - which is always an APPLE trait!!!

@@gbsailing9436Google Messages does a better job at knowing what is actually spam vs Apple's catch all approach of just putting anything not in your contacts in a separate folder.
@gbsailing943613 сағат бұрын
@@megatronskneecap there is a saying; "you can walk away from a conversation leaving a person wondering whether you're an idiot or not, or you can open your mouth and remove all doubt from their minds." not having an iPhone, and not knowing anything about them you won't know all the technological security advancements that Apple has implemented - which then having brought to better user security to market, Google and Samsung have had to duplicate and install on their phones to make their user experience secure. For example: when you pay for an item with Apple Pay using your phone or watch, you are not handing over your credit card details to the merchant. You are only giving the merchant a unique ID identifying number that Apple assigns solely to you and your phone or watch, and is linked with your bank account - not the credit card number. So this means that contactless payments via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are totally secure and cannot be scanned or traced back to your account by a third-party standing nearby. This is only one example of the many security features that Apple has implemented which then have had to be copied duplicated by Samsung and Google to keep in the so-called race for Customer security. Clearly, you need to engage your brain prior to making comment, and read my comment above more critically - and acknowledge its factual correctness instead of shooting your mouth off.

@ under the message you can click the blue letters “report junk.” Also, be sure to”filter unknown senders” so they can be added to a separate list. This will also help to ensure you don’t mistakenly respond to scammers.
@gbsailing943615 сағат бұрын
Hey Aaron, I think you could have told people about the function at around 03:14. Here under 'unknown messages' you can go in and ask to 'select messages' and have an option to delete straight away without having to go open each message and read it - and possibly accidentally click on the message. The beauty here is that if your iPhone doesn't recognised the number you can delete a whole list of them right off the bat - never even opening them. Thanks for all your content.

I might not fully understand this, so I’d like some clarification. By making the link clickable, am I already sharing my personal data with an attacker? Or does making the link clickable simply create the possibility of clicking it, which could then lead to sharing my data? I’m not sure what 'activating the link to be clickable' actually means.

I wish Apple would separate out security updates from feature updates and not mix them together. Let the users decide when to upgrade for security and not have to deal with buggy feature updates. Some of us really like the current version IOS we're on and only interested in keeping it safe but not interested in other features that may contribute to increased cpu usage and battery life.

Honestly, this isn't really a "vulnerability". It's kind of common sense not to click on unknown links from random unknown messages. At least I thought it was... but apparently some people do, I guess. 🤷♂ Also, it's not specific to iphones or imessage. They send the same crap to Androids, Macs, PCs or whatever. Any messaging or email app. Still... common sense beats scammers like 99.99% of the time.
