Welcome to the Iowa Plains View. The map is based on terrain in the State of Iowa,US, but has been modified to fit the gameplay i like and will not represent any particular place or city.
This map is standard size and here you can build your game as you want, arable, productions or forestry or all of those.
The main farm is equipped with pre-placed farm buildings along with Cow Barn, Chicken Barn, Pig Barn and starter machines to help you grow your farm. All placeables on main farm, including trees, fence even farm road, can be sold.
On the map you will find:
- 30 fields, from small to big. Two fields are with Grass Mission.
- 2 Forestry sites
- Collectibles
- BGA
- Traffic
- Pedestrians
- Added more paintable terrain texture.
Productions available:
- Dairy
- Sawmill
- Carpenter
- Bakery
- Oil Plant
- Sugar Mill
There are two new one:
- Watermill which will take your corn as well, and produce corn flour, which can be sold or sent to our local Bakery where you can make Corn bread, and
- Popcorn factory for producing of Popcorn and Popcorn Butter. For the production of both, you will need sea salt, which you can buy in the store.
Selling stations are:
- Livestock Balle Sell Point,
- Jackon's Farm and Grain Sell Point will take your grains and root crops.
- Garden Restaurant and Town Store will take your other goods.
- There is also a train that will ship your goods to Ravenport.
Iowa licence plates.
The seasonal growth plan has been adjusted to closer follow the region.

I was seriously impressed by this map. It does a really good job of nailing the feel of Iowa. Love that the fields aren't all square and you have some elevation changes.

One of the collectibles is in the John Deere service department that has no opening doors. If you jump on the roof, you can clip through the building. I can't believe a Lime/Fert Bulk purchase point wasn't added to the map with such large fields. Buying tons of pallets was getting tedious. You can't find a small town in Iowa with a train track that doesn't have a CO-OP selling and buying bulk. The map border trees are also way too close to the fields, they can't be cut or deleted, easy to get hung up on. I love the pig barn model, it is just like the ones we used in Iowa. I wish the map had more waterways to account for all the trees. Iowa is flat where there is no rivers or few creeks. Floods have eroded the soil causing the rolling hills and small valleys you see in the plains. If you look out over the Iowa plains usually where you see trees you will find a small creek and where hills roll you should find a river, just like the bluffs along the Missouri. Trees have a hard time rooting in dry soil because of high winds across the plains, so trees are sparse the further from water. I'm still playing this map but I had to add some mods (production points, lime/seed/fert bulk) but I really like to play a map where I don't feel I need to add mods to fill gaps. I also needed the ability to add wind turbines and ethanol production which made sense in Iowa.

There is plenty of placeable. Lime, Fertilizer and seed buy points. No need to buy pallets.

​@@farmerjohnson8121 Ya, that's what I said I did in the end. I don't use cheats though. When I try a map, I start with the cards I'm dealt, so in the beginning I had to use pallets till I could afford buying buildings that should have already been implemented.

Great info for those of us not that familiar with Iowa terrain. I always tinker with any map I download so lack of bulk points is not a big deal for me. For deleting unwanted trees I use GE or Easy Development Control's delete object function. If you don't want to feel like you are cheating just delete a small amount of money from your account to pay for "tree removal service".

@@The901meister I have easy development control, but as I said, the border trees can't be removed, probably since they are not selectable. I'm not sure console players have money cheats to utilize a "tree removal service" but great suggestion. Don't take me the wrong way, I'm on my 3rd sim year in the map and think it's a great map. I was just making suggestions to make it more accessible to future console players as well. I don't get enough stones to produce enough lime so I needed a building that produced lime and sold in bulk which isn't in the base game.

@@DrengrJeep Which field are you working where you can't delete the trees? I can delete trees next to field 10, but the trees past the bushes are blocked because of the border collision. As a PC player I tend to forget about the problems console players have. Actually I usually go into GE and fix any concerns/problems before I play a map. I build my own maps for personal play and can't resist customizing maps that I download.

I saw an OOOP's with the River flowing into the Pond. 32:56 Tire marks at the Stop sign HAHAHAHAAHA.... These Creators are getting a lot better with the little technical stuff. Proper Road marking's, Signs and such. Still do not need Guy Cables on every Utility Pole. Pretty cool Map. Mike M.

This map captures 75% of Iowa perfectly. The landscape here in southwestern Iowa wouldn't lend itself very well to Farming Sim without courseplay. Its alot more hilly here and most of the hillsides are terraced. If you were playing this realistically you would want the mods for the ethanol production as thats what most of our corn goes to nowadays. Also have the oil mill accept soybeans. Lastly anhydrous ammoina is used by every farmer here as well.

Awesome Map. Just quit my Stone Valley map to start playing on this one. Much more realistic And the new productions seem pretty cool. Just wish there was alfalfa and Clover like Stone Valley. Thanks for the content

I think I'm going to start a playthrough on this map right away. I'll start up on easy so the starter farm is present, than sell equipment, and the land, let the buildings remain, and than move over to the abandoned farm and bump the settings to medium or hard. Looks like it could be a lot of fun :)

The only problem I've had so far is some of the stuff on the main farm are so close to the map edge that you can't landscape after removing them

My elmcreek game I have played almost 500 hrs disappeared and is unrecoverable so I started a new farm on the iowa Plains view map, love it so far!

This is the best map so far. The attention to details, especially with version 1.0.0.4, makes you forget it's not made by GIANTS. The only downside is that it's a small map.

Live in NW Iowa. Corn, pigs and soybeans not much else. It’s not flat Land prices are stupid high. Just had an auction 100 acres $10 million. We do terrace farming on our hills, not sure how that would work in game? Can’t wait to play.

The only thing that is about this map when we went to use it on multiplayer there were no building or anything. Everything had to be placed. But thats ok I love a challenge and me and my buddy got it done. It looks almost like single player now. We are still using this in multiplayer. I dont recall what the map does in farm manager but when you start a new map on a server the only choices are farm manager or start from scratch unless you upload a save you prepaired locally. That might be why the buildings are not there if they are not there in those playmodes.

@celobukara I hope you don't change too much, I like this map. I understand that some like irregular shaped fields but I like more of the rectangles since I don't have a lot of "play time", it makes it easier to hire workers. @celobukara been playing here for a week now and I really like it, great work! Couple of things I noticed -- there's a sharp edge in the ground in the middle of field 29, easy to smooth but still. Also, I would advise increasing the spawn are at the shop, it's a bit tight for big combines with header trailers. Thank you, again!

This looks like a fun map. I'd like to try it with an Iowa focus for crops and animals and equipment. I looked online. main crops seem to be corn and soybeans, with haylage (Alfalfa or not). Animals Hogs, cattle, dairy. Equipment - I'd like to try a John Deere farm, but might not find all I want - what are the top three equipment brands in Iowa?

1. John Deere by a long shot 2. Case IH 3. I would say split between Massy and New Holland but they are a distant 3rd from the first 2.
