High school wrestling was demanding enough for me, and even if I was good enough for a school like Iowa I never would have done wrestling past high school. Shoulder issues have many different causes, of which only one could possibly be injury during weight lifting. It is just as likely and plausible that he injured him self in practice or competition. If Iowa's style of strength training was in some way more dangerous we'd see a lot more of their guys missing time for the same kinds of injuries, and we simply don't see that.

Jesus. And that's just conditioning! They haven't even hit the wrestling room - yet. Is it possible they might be overtraining? Certainly the "law of diminishing returns" could be applied here. I do know that at least you've got to have some rest / light days in between this level of intensity.
