I went to Iowa’s game against Maryland last weekend and I’ve been sick since Wednesday, too. Mad props to Nebraska for the win, but when it comes to the press conference, I totally get why Clark and Martin have their heads in their hands - they’re sick. Get back to it and run the table, ladies. Nebraska girls, again, great job. You got us and deserved the big win with that fight and discipline. 💜

1. Stop blaming Coach Bluder. She and the rest of the team aren’t dumb enough to throw the game because of a damn record. 2. Stop blaming Gabbie. They’ve said before that Gabbie is their defensive anchor. She’s there to defend (mostly) the star players of the opposing team. 3. A number of Hawkeyes are under the weather, especially Molly D., that’s why her minutes have been reduced the past couple of games. 4. Losing a game is inevitable in every sport. Stop spewing hate and blame on the team in every loss. A true fan of the sport should be understanding and supportive, win or lose.

Agreed - I dont think that's what was going on considering we did the same damn thing against Oh St. We stopped being aggressive period and playing with pace. I thought Neb stepped up the D on Clark and it was tough for her to get free - didnt feel like we were purposefully avoiding giving her opportunities - but I'd have to watch the 4th again. Now that we've lost twice after having 14 pt leads in the 4th we better get it figured out that the stall game is hurting us.

She took 1 shot in the 4th quarter until 2 minutes left. They were up 14 early in the 4th. The coach previously indicated the preference for breaking the record at home. Even it wasn't directly conveyed in that moment, the thought of sandbagging points if they "were up enough" was clearly on the mind.

I don't disagree. I think everyone involved knows the event is magnified in many ways at home. Unfortunately, even pondering that preference creates a mental distraction in trying how to navigate the 4th quarter with a 14-point lead. I liken it to a baseball tournament where coaches sometimes try to save their best pitchers for later rounds and tougher games, and end up losing against inferior teams. I think you have to play organically and accept what happens.@@HannahDisponett

The fans are great even if CC isn’t around. Long time season ticket holder here. There have always been good crowds for Hawkeye games. Maybe not sold out, but it has happened in earlier years, including during C Vivian Stringer’s time as coach there. Midwestern states without pro teams support their college teams very well. It’s always great fun to follow the Hawks, regardless of their record.

Ball handling was terrible. Basic basketball. ALWAYS hold ball TIGHTLY, especially after a steal or a rebound. Protect the ball. They lost a lot of points to such carelessness.

A team that lost to the worse team in the big ten was overlooked and unprepared by Iowa. Iowa came in thinking it was a going to be a walk in the park. Kudos to Nebraska being well prepared for Iowa. Iowa should have won and records should have been broken to a team who has been inconsistent throughout the season. That's why we love sports. The element of surprise never seems to stop.

One bad loss doesn't break the Iowa Hawkeyes' season although there is a level of disappointment by the team itself that can be felt and heard in this postgame press conference. I feel bad for their loss against Nebraska. However, this team is really embracing each other in the face of everything happening around them. And it's a lot to absorb for any of these players. Some handle pressure better than others. But I love this team's resilience, however!❤

In high school I was triangled and twod all the time! It was me and another girl who were tough behind the 3 so they always triangled twod us….its not as easy to score or get the ball when you have someone who never leaves being an inch away from you. Face guarding your every move….that’s why other players are relied on so badly in those situations. The coach issue in this game is they didn’t do more to get into Hannah in the 4th quarter. 100% needed to get the ball inside and did not.

I'm in ACC country but By No Means a Conference Snob or "Biased" IOWA Fanatic; I'm Not Big on Bluder, she's a good Manager, but in Reality, CLARK recruited IOWA more than the Coach doing the Reverse; Martin took pressure off w/ made shots, something she needs to continue, but the Inside-Outside pop-in / pop-out passes & screens to Spread the Floor 4 Better looks were Missing, which stagnated CLARK & others; Lack of Movement & Penetration, w/ CLARK having the ball Every Possession, to Draw attention & Most Importantly, Fouls, allowed Nebraska to have a Low, NO 1 in 1 Foul Count, w/ plenty to give; And to Your Point, though BLUDER may have hit on those points, it seems more apparent there were gaps in those details being emphasized; Nebraska is a good team, and if they were on the bubble, the Win may get them Off of it, but @ the Least IOWA, when the lead was chopped, should have made the plays to Win the Game; it could be argued they should have prevented the Lady Huskers from getting within Arm's reach & Killed the Contest (See Part 2)

Even the best teams don't win every game-not Bluder's fault they didn't hit all those free throws and easy lay-ups. Lots of unforced turn overs and bad passes. I've noticed Iowa plays like that quite a bit but usually manages to win because the opposition is often playing as poorly. Still a fun game to watch.

Was in the arena for this game, NU was physical on D, not sure Iowa was expecting that, plus CC had an off night shooting behind the arc. That's not fair. She score 12, 4x3 3 or 4 games in a row. But, I think if they wanted to save Caitlin for home, they should have clocked her out of the last 1/4. What's happening with Iowa Women's Basketball is a phenomenon. Everywhere they go they sell out arenas. People who have never been to a women's college basketball game in their lives come just to root against Clark and the Iowa team. The few games that Iowa has fallen were celebrated by people who never cared about women's basketball and will probably never go to another game. Every single team they play wants to destroy them. Their opponents shoot better than they ever shot, their scoring percentages are higher, and their bench players come in and score points they've never scored. The fact that Iowa has only lost 3 games this year, shows exactly how damned good this team really is. When they finally get into some games, ie tournament, where they want to destroy the other team worse than that team wants to destroy them, watch out. When they finally embrace the killer instinct, I do believe they will be unstoppable. But right now, it is absolutely ridiculous to expect this team to play every opponent like it's a tournament game.

The Nebraska Barbie Doll bombshells we're going to get blown out then they stood up to Iowa & CC and took the game from them. It was shocking. Is is this another in the long line of the Bluder specials? Horrible loss by Iowa. But a program defining win for Nebraska. Nope. They can't play the entire year with the intensity of tournament play and that is what every team they have played this year has come with. It's physically impossible. But when the tourney comes around, and they want to kick their opponent's asses as badly as their opponents want to kick theirs, we shall see where the asphalt meets the road.
