The car you said was an import in a 1934 Chrysler Airflow, very rare! Like your video's!
@billdavis1730 Жыл бұрын
Another great walk-around Ryan! The "foreign looking" car in the Mopar section at the 16:00 mark is a 1934 Desoto Airflow! Very controversial advanced design for Chrysler and Desoto that sold poorly but had many engineering innovations. The AMC Gremlin around the 42:00-ish minute mark had the "X" package option. AMC offered several trim package options such as the "X" and a "Levi's" edition. The X was a sporty package with bodyside stripes, slotted wheel, badging, sports steering wheel, and upgraded bucket seats, plus a few more niceties. The 304ci V-8 was an option for all Gremlins, even the sporty X which came standard with the 232 ci 6. If that one had a V8, it was rare!

Can't believe you saw my high school dream car - Pontiac T37! From what I've read, Pontiac used the Tempest model with T-37 identification to fall under Pontiac Tempest insurance rates, which were much lower than a GTO. Thanks, Ryan. Your salvage yard tours are always great!

T-37 was the base model, replaced Tempest trim. The GT-37 option package was the "budget performance model" not the base T-37 [non-GT], which came with a Chevy I6 standard.

One of the coolest salvage yards ever presented on KZbin! Quite expansive with a fair representation of Ford's, GM's, Chrysler's, & a variety of miscellaneous makes & models. Immensely enjoyed the tour of the yard & thank you! Find your passion for 1959 & 1960 full size GM cars (-Pontiac) to be fascinating. My two years of passion for full size GM's are 1967 & 1968. A point aside, my Dad had a 59' Pontiac he used to drag race many decades ago. Thought it was a decent looking car, of course, IMHO. Guess Pontiac is not for everybody.

Here in my state of Massachusetts, people would pay decent money for cars that are fairly solid even 4drs and would even pay to have them em shipped here. I know a guy who did just that when he bought a car online in Montana and had it shipped to his shop in Southern New Hampshire. It was an early full size 60s Oldsmobile 4dr. He was happy that it was it in good shape with minimum rust.

Hey Ryan! Thanks for the tour, about 1/3 through watching! Love the 1959 coral Belair! A Flat Top too! You gotta save her! The 1959 Buick looks interesting as well, that car should have been Christine in the movie, they look so angry. The car just after the 16- minute mark is an Air Flow Chrysler or DeSoto dare I say, I am kinda sure. A real Art Deco style vehicle that was way ahead in design for its time. The public was not ready for them yet unfortunately. Time to keep watching! take care

The 57 chevy 2 dr wagon @ 6:10 might be a glass sedan delivery for government use. Tom on Barn Find Hunter had one on one of his episodes. The thing that caught my eye was the tailgate. I absolutely love late 50’s GM. That 60 Buick wagon looks like a good car. I think the 59 Buicks are a far better body style than the 60 but oddly enough I like the dash on a 60 that’s my opinion. I’m surprised to hear you say that the 59 Pontiacs don’t do anything for you. I love them. I hope to see a video of you loading some of them cars up. Thanks for all the great old car content. I think the T-37 was the bottom of the barrel. Roadkill got one running in a older episode. The Medalist is a Canadian model I think which is a lower or higher model than the Monarch.

On the MOPAR ROW, at 16:00 that car is a 1934 Plymouth or Desoto airflow. The chrysler airflow did'nt have the gills on the side like this one has, dodges most popular version of the AIRFLOW was a truck. The T in T37 stood for TEMPEST to pontiac. The Model J of the Pontiac Grand Prix was an entry level model of the car.

Shock ! 2:33 - fins ! They have fins ! Like decent self-respecting car should ! 3:40 - yay, a Sport Sedan ! Run at it and love it ! 9:08 - OMG! A Buick sitting and buicking ! 11:30 - front half of a '60 Chevy there 12:07 - with those additional waterfall grilles on the fenders besides the central grille I'd say 1939/40 13:07 - this one looks really saveable 14:52 -omg Colony Park just sitting out in the wild ! Like that ! 16:09 - WTF ?! WTF ?! DeSoto Airflow sitting out there like that ! Shock ! Shock ! These were too shocking in their aerodynamic form for the 1930's buyers, great design-wise but not a selling hit. 16:36 - this Dodge Royal is a Spring Special, has the fin tips. A mid-season dress-up package offering to boost the sales of the model. 22:25 - that's the cheapest of them all in Mercury range for '58, the Medalist. Only offered as sedans. Last year for this model name. 22:36 - omg, Buick wagon, also sitting just like that out there ! 27:25 - Hudsons ! WHole row of Hudsons ! and Nashes 33:30 - oh, a Kaiser ! 34:52 - yup, '57 Firesweep, the half-Dodge one 41:38 -Edsels ! I thought there will be no Edsels in such a diverse junkyard with such a wide time frame ! Thank you for another tour in a wind and water for us !

The Cadillac is a 1940 Fleetwood. If the 57 and 59 Ford confuses you, just remember that in 1958 just about all full sized cars produced in America had 4 headlights. '57 pretty much was the last year of the 2 sealed beams. So, the Fords in question are 1959. The car you thought was an import is the Chrysler Airflow made from 1934 to 1937. The Pontiac Model J was named for John DeLorean, the man the refined the design of the Grand Prix for '69.

'69 was also first year of the ignition on the column for all GM products.
