How's she goin'? Lots of gear for sale there Gary and it looked like most of it was John Deere. I wonder why there are so many? No joking, it seems at all majors auction sites there are a lot of John Deere machines listed. Thanks for taking us along on this one. It was fun to see and hear the action of the auction!! Take 'er easy!!
@tractortalkwithgary12719 ай бұрын
Thanks Mike. We are in John Deere country here. Much of their tractors and equipment is made about 50 miles from here. John Deere seems to be the only domestic tractor brand to survive the 70’s and early 80’s. They didn’t sell out or merge with any other company. They also hung onto their dealerships. That was very tough to do but turned out to be a very smart move on their part.
@GrampiesWorkshop9 ай бұрын
They are certainly a popular brand even around here!! They merchandise their products well, what with all the hats, shirts toys and what nots available with green and yellow on them!!@@tractortalkwithgary1271

Thanks for sharing, the big ones went for a lot of 💰💰💰wow… what did you think of the $14k for the 2520? Low or high? The little Farmall was in great shape 👍🏻. That was fun Gary, have a great weekend 👍🏻🙋🏼♂️🙂👊🏻🍻
@tractortalkwithgary12719 ай бұрын
The 2520 was originally a gas powered tractor. At some point, they replaced the gas engine with a newer 2155 John Deere 2155 engine that is turbo charged. They have a 15 more hp than the 2520 diesel engine which is just slightly more powerful than the gas engine version. Add the extra 25 hp and the snap the turbo gives it and you would have a pretty gutsy little tractor. Had this tractor been original, either gas or diesel, it would have nearly doubled the price. What makes these tractors so valuable is that JD didn’t make very many of them and only made them for 4 years. Thanks Luc
@clarencetrice44429 ай бұрын
U talk 😊😊 about that John deere tractor 🚜 😊 some 1 put a turbo on it 4 more HP / more air more HP 4 diesel engines and the John deere hay balers was better than the old new Holland hay balers 😊😊 I don't remember none of them that had the kickers on them 😮😮 if U have a hay wagon behind they drop every bale on the ground then 2 people would have 2 walk along each of the wagon and pick up every bale and throw it on the hay wagon and some 1 still had 2 stack the bales 😮😮 the old wagons would only hold about 75 bales not like the red 1S they hold 150 bales a baler w a kicker on it U can turn it up and it will kick a bale past the hay wagon the old hay balers weren't like that at all 😮😮 3 16 2O24
@tractortalkwithgary12719 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Clarence. I was wrong about the turbo part on that 2520. That tractor was originally a gas engine version and someone swapped out the old gas engine for a newer JD turbocharged diesel engine. It was a gain of approximately 15 hp on an already snappy little tractor. We used to have a JD 336 baler almost identical to that one. It was one of the 1st 336’s to come out. My Dad and I went to the dealer and help put it together. It sold on the farm sale with the original sticker invoice on the bale chamber and you could still read the $1995.00 on the tag It sold for$5995 on our sale in 86

I’ve never seen so many show quality tractors at auction. Generally they have their working clothes on😊. Mostly the Deere’s looked clean. .
@tractortalkwithgary12719 ай бұрын
Thanks Dave. Most appeared well cared for. Much of the equipment is coming from estates,retirement, or down sizing. There is much equipment there that you can simply hop on or in and just go. There is some that will need to be hauled straight to the shop. A few are just parts Tractors. There is a pretty good market for parts.

Would have to baby that 2510, the 40-50 series were very easy to burn up with turbos, most were overhauled yearly and more often if not very vigilant, this country was very hard on those tractors
