elbows are pretty sharp and strong against a blunt hit and a good weapon as well. Considering that mike tyson actually injured his hand during this scene while punching donnie's elbows and he is obviously holding back his strength cause its a movie. If it was a full punch it would have hurt his hands far worse, this movie does not use fake martial arts, a lot of training is needed to know how to block punches with elbows of course but when its mastered its no joke

i dare say that the increased power you can utilize from an albow attack combined with the much more fragile knucle bones in the hand an elbow block is quite effecient (profiveded you are fast and precise enough to actually use it) remember, if you are treating an elbow strike like a short range blade attack, the damage you can do to people is absolutely astounding.

Do You want To try How Hard Elbow if trained well ?? One fact That When They Doing Some acting behind the scene for sure Mike finger was broken by donnie yen.. I've been Learn Muay thai and I know Elbow Its the one most Hardest Thing that could break Our bones easily if trained as well

Yes, and in that case, Tyson fist are also hard as heck, so yen chance to brake the elbow are very great. You can finish a fight with broken finger, it's a lot harder with a broken elbow

just a bit of something i want to throw in i have a good friend who is a boxing enthusiast and from his perspective he saw the elbows vs fist part of the fight as a standard peekabo vs a cross guard. i actually notice that Tyson in that shot where he is shaking his hand because it hurts, after seeing Yen's stance showing off the cross guard immediately goes for an uppercut to break the cross guard as in boxing that is the "counter" to that style a stronger lower base with uppercuts not sure if you will see this or respond but i love your insight as i am a very poor wing chun enthusiast i hope you start making more content!

ip man's wing chun is a whole different style its not traditional wingchun he developed it himself and taught it to others including the late bruce lee but whenbruce first went to Ip Sifu he was turned down cuz he just wanted to beat people up at chool he had no dicipline and was told to return when he had that

The elbow scene is accurate man mike actually broke a finger while filming that part of the scene an elbow block untrained or not is no joke all my friends tell me when i show it off that its quite effective as a ex boxer as well i can confirm elbow to hand hurts like hell and even if the pain isnt enough to stop you your body will remember the feeling making you hold back for fear of a broken hand even with gloves and wraps ive seen a man nearly shatter his whole hand do to nothing but elbow block when he went for a right body blow

@@EmpowerYourLifewithBogdanRosu And yes it you throw punches at some one and that strike you're fist with there elbows they can break you're hands people break bricks and concrete with there elbows.Even if they just block with there elbows it can mess up you're fingers of hands it depends on who is doing the blocking and who is doing the punching like size,power and skill level for example.aFor example throw punches at a thai boxer or good karate person and let them elbow you're fist.

I disagree with the part you were saying about the elbows. At the end of the day i feel like it's all about how you train. If you have it in you to pull off something like that, then it would be super effective, but the average person may not be able to do it.

Empowerment Wing Chun - Sifu Bogdan Rosu Its only harder to pull off, if you are not train in doing it. Anything is hard to pull off if you don’t train in it. For example, are you able to block punches if you are not trained to do so? Of course you can block maybe a couple out of luck but you will be taking 80% of the hit. Fun fact: Tyson fractured his finger when Donnie blocked one of his punch with his elbow.

also a boxers weak spots are actually his actual muscles as the training hasnt just made them stronger but far more suseptible to damage use your apponants strength against them turn their strength into a weakness like you would've seen in the one where he fits the twister he adopts a new fighting style and fashions it into his wingchun by using crane he injures the Twister's muscles thus making them useless also ipman isnt just using wing chun hes using lao gar too as theres snake and crane style in the fight the elbow strikes are wing strikes from crane styleandthestrike to the eyes is snake

It is mixed what he does.. In Wing Chun you wouldn't use legs as much as he does either.. I have trained in a mix of Wing Chun and Krav Maga for example and when he goes for the legs like he does.. That's a Wushu mixed with Wing Chun stance...
