Fun fact about Master Chiang: She’s the cobra lady from the 2010 Karate Kid

I really think that style doesn’t matter all that much. The most important thing is dedication, effort, adaptation, and experience.
@BruiseLeeReact3 жыл бұрын
That's absolutely true in my opinion. It's all about the individual vs the individual. You might represent a certain style or country but at the end of the day the Responsibility is only on you!

According to Bruce Lee, it's not really style that matters but adaptation. He says you need to be like water. If you pour water into the teapot you become the teapot. My guess is according to Bruce Lee, it is important to know multiple styles like MMA and adapt to how your opponent fights. Observe your opponents and fid their weakness and use your variety of skills to annihilate your opponent. Have you ever played the video game Mega Man? You become super powerful after you beat the master robots and then acquire their super powers. And each master robot has a weakness where if you use that super power it will easily destroy your opponent. For example if you are going to fight a boxer, they have lethal fists but maybe you can use your legs and use Taekwondo kicks to beat him /her.

@@AceCorr very true. Traditional Chinese martial arts are beautiful, but if you watch the movie, though Master Wan is an expert at Tai Chi, he stuck to the tenants of Tai Chi, which played a part in his loss against Geddes. Ip Man, however, has been incorporating different techniques into his Wing Chun, which played a part in him beating even Cheung Tin Chi, who was a traditionalist of Wing Chun

The point which u said about blocking kicks with more surface area is 100% true. I practice kickboxing with a bit of wing chun and I mostly use my elbow/shoulder and pak sau with both hands at the same time to minimize my partner's kick power. Kicks are definitely powerful and cause serious pain if blocked with one hand.

conditioning your forearm hands etc to block a kick as you say is true.. however people need to realize that legs are naturally stronger than arms.. and for two practitioners, its not unlikely that even if you condition your arm, the other person that kicks also conditions their legs, some cases you can block and be fine... might hurt or sting, but thats kinda what you want for conditioning BUT.. id say.. just deflect the kick honestly... grab the guys foot, change its course of direction while you take a step back.. OR preferably just move out of the way lol

Wow, I know nothing about this kind of stuff but I love action movies so I really enjoyed it regardless. And I really liked the break down of how you explained in detail the certain types of fighting styles . So I learned something new. ❤️

This what I meant on my last comment, that Kung Fu I believe was effective during the dynasty and warring state era, back when you had to train and spar to go to war and defend yourself, now days it's just fake show offs, and nobody is sparring with each other or against other different styles of fighting as well.
@LibeliumDragonfly3 жыл бұрын
yeah, like, no style started off as being impractical, it's just through time it went from being a practical fighting training into a formulaic dance number
@BruiseLeeReact3 жыл бұрын
Yeah absolutely! I think peace time has a tendency to "dilute" some things

Karate, but I have to say it's not the style at all. The fighter behind it matters. I thought PointKarate is bs til I saw Wonderboy snipering people to LaLaLand.

Haha yeah his spinning kicks and hands down side stance (aka the stance that 90% of mma fighters say doesn't work now a days) and he was tearing that division up!! Thanks so much for tuning in :) Hope to see you at the next one!
