@@imperium2590 You have to go to the App Store on your iPad 2, select “Purchased” at the bottom of the screen and it will show you all your Apple downloads. The iPad will probably need an older version of iTunes so scroll to find it on your purchased page. Once you see it, don’t open it. Click on the cloud symbol instead. It will tell you if you want an older version of iTunes. Click ok and you should be fine. I’ve downloaded KZbin, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video that way. Unfortunately no way to get HBO Max since it doesn’t have an older version. Again, ONLY older versions of apps if the newer ones don’t work. Hope that helps.

I'd like to throw a couple observations regarding speed and installing apps: 1. I just received my friend's iPad 2 a gift (I paid for shipping), and it does not run nearly as well as above. It was given to me third hand (originally her mother's, than her's, and she didn't want it anymore). Going beyond drops and dings for a moment (which this certainly has had a few). As with anything, the more you use something, the quicker it will wear out; same with electronics. I think that's a great price that you paid for such a smooth running device; I wish mine was the same, but I think mine just was "used more" than the one in the video, unfortunately. Web pages load very slowly, mail takes forever to load, and there is quite a noticeable lag when typing. BUT...for the cost of just shipping ($13), it's pretty good for eBooks and comics from all the platforms I'm on, which is my original intent for this one, so I can deal. 2. I've never owned an iOS device before; I have a Mac laptop and always an Android phone (currently Pixel 2XL). The iPad 2, on the last available software update, (9.3.5), WILL NOT LET YOU INSTALL NEW APPS from the App Store; only apps you've already acquired/bought. Most (not all) new apps, if you try to install, require 10 or something higher, and will just give you a message "This app is not compatible with your current iOS version" and not let you install. THE WORKAROUND is to install an older version of iTunes on your desktop (one which can see the iOS App Store), log into your account there, "buy" or acquire your apps onto your account through that, then going back to your iPad 2, go to the App Store on that, go to "Purchases", and then downloading the apps you want from that section. Instead of just flat our refusing to install, it will just tell you the latest version is incompatible with your device and offer to install the last known working version with your tablet. All THAT said...if anyone has a method for helping me speed this sucker up so it's little more like what's shown in the video, it would be greatly appreciated.

This tablet is still worth it if you can get the 64GB version and still has a decent battery life for about $60 or less. Also I do recommend getting a keyboard for it, like a Logitech ultrathin keyboard that has the aluminum bottom. Luckily Apple made it possible so you could still download the last compatible versions of apps, particularly the ones that has been around for a while. This tablet is still a good device for those that is on a tight budget like a student or a parent that wanted to get a cheat tablet for their kids, or someone who just needed a tablet to watch KZbin videos and Netflix on it. I still use it on a regular basis for Microsoft apps like word and excel. Luckily because of the One Drive thing that Microsoft has, you can edit your docs, spreadsheets and slideshows and it'll be saved onto one drive, essentially making it easy for you to access them on another device. Because of this, this tablet wouldn't be a terrible choice if you're a broke student who needed something to take notes on or type up an assignment on.

I'm posting and watching from an iPad 2 right now. I'm using the web browser though because the KZbin app is not supported. And this is the case for many simple apps that should run just fine on even the oldest of tablets and smartphones. Spotify is also not supported, nor is almost any modern app actually worth installing. A few simple and older games work, but beyond that, this thing is really only good for browsing the Internet in 2020.

Review of the tab from someone who still has it for almost a decade now: (commented in another vid abt this but i just want to share) The only tablet I have since 2012. Never bought a new one since this iPad has been with me since 6th grade. Im in 3rd year college now. I dont use it for like heavy gaming or apps but I use it for my studies to view lessons. I bought a china made stylus pen for it to draw. It doesnt have pressure sensitivity, but it still lets me draw digitally. It lets me highlight my lessons! Down side for me probably is not being able to download some apps but I can download older available versions of those apps through my 8+ which has same accounts. I only download what it can download since I have phone afterall. As for camera, honestly I take photos of it with friends or family randomly just for memories, the quality gives me good old time aesthetics 🤣 Defo not for aesthetic instagram or professional photos (tho i was active af in instagram 2012 with this cam) I dont game a lot but it can download casual games which is good for me. Battery on it for me still works like magic since I take care of it well. Overall, still amazing to me. It is slow sometimes laggy of course. But I got used to it. Wouldnt recommend it for people who likes advanced gadgets! 😃

I've been considering getting an iPad for reading/streaming for awhile now, but couldn't justify spending a lot because I wasn't sure if I'd use it much.. I just picked up an iPad 2 for $30, sooooo worth it for that price! I'm able to run almost all of the apps I wanted to get; since I previously downloaded them all on my iPhone, I was able to easily get older versions of them all. Yeah it's slower, but using it for easy tasks like pulling up notes for school and reading is great. You wouldn't really even be able to get a cheap off-brand tablet for that, plus the battery life is great.

It's just way too old in 2020, it's nearly a collectors item! nearly 10 years old. I'd say, in 2020, if you are looking for a cheap iPad, the very least you should get is an iPad Air 1st Generation, at least that has iOS 12 and can still run apps and Netflix and stuff. I have an iPad 2 and it can't really do anything at this point, internet browsing is extremely slow, KZbin is almost unusable, can't download any apps.

It depends on the compatibility of the app. There might still be some children’s apps that only requires iOS 9 & under. But some you might need to do the last compatible version thing on it, which requires you to either have an older version of iTunes that allows you to access the iOS App Store on your computer or a iPad or iPhone with a more modern iOS.

It’s a great hand me down to a grandparent who doesn’t need the speed, just a Bible program, email, scrabble, solitaire, and Ancestry. They will love it. You can find them for $10.00, a great investment. If the App Store doesn’t support IOS 9, just create a short cut icon to the website like Ancestry and KZbin.

Older, popular apps for these 7, 8 and 9-year old iPads have been being permanently removed by their respective third party app developers since the beginning of 2019 and has only beginning to get much worse off in 2020. There are virtually no more older versions of popular apps for initial download from the Apple iOS App Store app, any longer. iPads 2, 3, 4 and 1st gen iPad Mini will be at their complete end of life and obsolete by the end of 2020.

This video is either just became outdated or is misleading. I bought an IPad2 and it is useless. You cannot install any important app. Basically you cannot install any and all apps you are currently using on other devices. (facebook, kindle, amazon, chrome, firefox, spotify, netflix, candy crush, hulu, any third party browser, etc.) Hell you cannot even access certain websites because the Safari browser is no longer "secure". Please update this so your viewers are not out buying IPads that are absolutely useless.

It’s definitely not. It only goes up to 5.1.1 Doesn’t have Siri, airdrop Can’t download any apps But is good for basic stuff such as safari, notes, texting (has iMessage, so that’s a bonus), music

If the app supports iOS 9 you can still update apps to this iPad but if it needs a newer iOS version then it won't update I still use daily my iPad 2 it still has some updates every day it just depends on what is the oldest iOS version an app needs.

I have this using it today but the problem the games sometimes is crashing even the multiple apps can't be use by 3 because of laggy display i have this still use able but not as fast as the newer ipad
