This was my first iPad, I got it on my 12th birthday used. I never noticed how slow it was. Recently I downgraded it to iOS 6, and gave it to one of my friends since I own a Mini 2 now. It’s loaded with games and she really doesn’t care how outdated it is. I think iOS 6 on an iPad was very different to iOS 6 on an iPhone, and that’s not as true for post-iOS 7 releases.

I have 2 one is Broke and one is in good condition. I remember my parents giving me the iPad and I remember running iOS 4. And I did take pictures with it from my middle school years until my 9th grade year. After that I had windows laptops until I got my iPad 6 in early 2019. I do use the iPad 2 from time to time for videos mostly. Keep making great videos. Love them.

The iPad 2 was my very first apple device. My dad bought it for me, for my birthday when he came home from his routine business trip. Being 11 at that time (2012) this became a source of entertainment, e-reader, communication and at the same time a toy and fondled with alot of the silly camera filters, imovie templates, and all other basic stuff apple offered I basically played with. It served me well over the years until I got the Air 3 which became my daily driver for school purposes. With what’s left, my 16gb iPad 2 became a family tablet until somehow it got locked out. and I still can’t recover it even with itunes, up till this day. (though if anyone could help me or guide me how to recover it, that would be great!)

I know this is very late, but sometimes iTunes isn’t required for restoring the iPad! If your Mac has MacOS Catalina or later, you would have to open finder, plug the iPad into your Mac, and look at locations. Then you can restore the software. Worked on an iPad mini 4 with the same software issue. Hope this helps!

I remember using this iPad, it's my cousin's iPad back in 2012. At the time my parents bought me a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10 inch instead. The iPad 2 was the better tablet obviously, but it's sad to see it updated to iOS 9 and became so much slower. Meanwhile my Tab 2 was stuck at android 4.1.2 and basically suffered the same fate as the iPad. all the newest apps just didn't run really well, and it takes up too much background resources and slows down the whole device. But now, i installed a custom rom with android 7.1.2. The tablet runs so much better than the bloated Touchwiz it came with. Still using this 8 year old tablet today, even right now I'm watching and typing this comment on the tab. Meanwhile my cousin's iPad 2 was destroyed by a younger sibling :)

I downgraded my own iPad 2 to iOS 6 a few years ago when I was still using it (now on a iPad Air 2), and it became a lot faster, but app support wasn’t that great (this was in 2015-16 I think). The iPad two is not that great today, but at least it’s a LOT better than the first iPad because it has enough ram at least.

i use my ipad 2 for prime video, netflix, youtube, social media, and jailbreak experimentation. i entirely disabled it as a young kid back in 2013, and we didn't get it fixed for 4 years cause we got the ipad air 2nd gen which we use to this day lol. then my dad decided to repair it out of nowhere, and no one else had a use for it, so I took it. in fact, that day in 2017 introduced me to the world of jailbreaking.

My Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition recently died after almost eight years of use. My aunt bought it for me back in 2013 because I needed a way to keep in touch with people due to my being disabled. I also spend a lot of time at the doctors office & in the hospital so needed something I could browse the net with & do art one. I love my note & wish I could get something similar but I don't have the money. A friend has had his Ipad2 sitting around for awhile & said he'd send it to me. So...that's what I have to use now. I'm grateful for it of course but after watching this I can't help feeling I should look for something newer that is perhaps on sale while using his ipad2 in the meantime. I can't see this as suiting my needs for very long.

Note: For those who still attempt to get apps on the device, you better hope you installed them before the 32bit support drop because they will not let you install the older versions of the app in the appstore itself. Jailbreak is a necessity here.

I currently use mine for school. It has the iOS 9. Apps I use for school: Microsoft one note & excel, Blackboard, Zoom, Kindle and notes (you can open larger pdf files on notes instead of downloading an pdf viewer). Apps for fun that I have on it is Nook, Netflix, KZbin, Vudu, Pinterest, and candy crush soda. I haven’t tried downloading any other games. I was able to download all of those apps by going into my App Store to the purchase tab and then looking for the app I needed and downloading a compatible version of the app to the ipad. As mentioned in the video it does lag at times but nothing too bad (for me anyways). Hope this helps anyone who needs it.

I never used the 2. My dad had the 1 and my mom had the 3. I eventually got the 3 handed down to me. I didn’t use it a lot due to how slow it was on iOS 9. Luckily I watched your video on how to downgrade to iOS 8, got it on 8.4.1 and gave the iPad to my uncle who was using an older iPod Touch. He loves it and still uses it today.

I bought one new in September 2011. My young nephew uses it when he visits for YT and YT Kids and it’s fine for that. Still on the original battery which lasts a long time. Painful to use for browsing and pretty much everything else, I use it as a large clock docked on an original Apple stand.

It’s outdated and not very secure you can knock back iOS version . In my opinion iOS 7 was the last ok version of iOS you should try downgrading as its not secure anyway and you can get some good old apps

i got the iPad 2 mini for my 16th birthday, and i remember the iPad 3 coming out literally a week later...my mom was devastated. i still use it for adobe draw, watching KZbin and playing logo quiz games....i think the camera still is awesome though. Most importantly it still plays music and has an audio jack.

The iPad 2 is definitely worth it as a third device (laptop as first and iPad mini 4 as second). It can do anything I ask for a third device, watching movies or browsing the Star Wars wiki. But as a secondary or main device? No. Not at all.

Review of the tab from someone who still has it for almost a decade now: The only tablet I have since 2012. Never bought a new one since this iPad has been with me since 6th grade. Im in 3rd year college now. I dont use it for like heavy gaming or apps but I use it for my studies to view lessons. I bought a china made stylus pen for it to draw. It doesnt have pressure sensitivity, but it still lets me draw digitally. It lets me highlight my lessons! Down side for me probably is not being able to download some apps but I can download older available versions of those apps through my 8+ which has same accounts. It runs at ios 9.3.15 I believe. As for camera, honestly I take photos of it with friends or family randomly just for memories, the quality gives me good old time aesthetics 🤣 Defo not for aesthetic instagram or professional photos. I dont game a lot but it can download casual games which is good for me. Battery on it for me still works like magic since I take care of it well. Overall, still amazing to me. Wouldnt recommend it for people who likes advanced gadgets! 😃

They really helped in school and as my dad hated me, I never got the upgrade for it until uni. I still used it for sixth form till 2017 as my school ran mostly its resources online! It was a great iPad and that’s why apple sold it for so long. Because of this iPad I now only use apple tablets and an iPhone because of the support and that iMessage was how students communicated online at my school. Until snapchat was marketed away from inappropriate operations lol

Ahhh the iPad 2. Those are the ones they put in my 8th grade social studies class. I always went on safari and looked at sponge bob memes then some assistant teacher snitched on me and showed the teacher my history 😂😂 we also did projects on them once in a while

Yep, Josh... writing this on my brand new iPad mini 5th gen with iOS 13.5. Was using a mini 2 until about a week ago. OMG... screamin’ fast! Loads up my NYT app instantly where the old workhorse would sit and spin for 30 to 40 seconds and then take just about as much time on each article I’d try to read! And Apple is even giving me $50 trade in... yeah, baby!

I still have my iPad 2 using it daily since it first came out, best apple device I’ve ever had, other than lack of support due to age it’s still in perfectly good condition and only suffers a small crack in the corner

My 8 year old sister currently uses it for media streaming & games. Media streaming for her is a little slow but works fairly ok for the most part, but her games are abysmally slow. She wants to upgrade to the new iPod Touch 7 because she wants something small & fast

Still use my iPad 2 for Kindle, Facebook, Streaming, Google Earth, airline apps, and an audit app I use for work. Still works quite well for those. Great little device. Apple built a product that last with this version.

i have one retired, not used anymore, the oldest device I use now is an A7 based iPad Mini 2, no older and only sparingly. need an upgrade to iPad mini 5 there. main iPad now is 2nd Gen iPad Pro 12.9".

So, despite having an iPad 9, I decided to see if I could watch this video on my old iPad 2 just for laughs... And I'm surprised that KZbin didn't crash in browser for once... The whole reason I even switched to an iPad 9 is because the 2 was no longer able to suit my needs for online connectivity, primarily writing stories online and doing minor visual edits to have visual aids in those stories. But yeah, in 2022, this old iPad 2 is even worse as a main driver... But I suppose it could be cool to use as a way for me to listen to content on KZbin when my phone is charging... Provided it's a good day and Safari doesn't crash. 😂😂 But on he real, I'm just amazed this video even worked on the iPad 2 since it normally just crashes these days.

My iPad 2 is running iOS 8.4.1, it's okay a little slow at times but it's NOTHING compared to using on iOS 9.3.5. I'm NEVER updating it since Apple doesn't sign ipsw's anymore.
