Thanks a lot! I know this video is about 2 years old, but still very informative. I just purchased an MPD226, and besides using it on my Mac for Reason, I also wanted to use it with my iPad mini 4. Will make sure to get the usb3 lightning connector. Thanks! I will also eventually purchase the MPD218 for easy travel and not have to worry about carrying around the MPD226 which is bigger.

Hello, thanks for the video demonstrating multiple midi controllers. I actually want to use two/three keyboard style midi controllers (like the one on the left) into one Tablet; do you know if it's possible? How would I attach each controller to a different voice?
@greetriman2156 жыл бұрын
It’s possible, just make sure that the power supply provides enough power. On the different voice part - use different midi channels for each device/voice. Or do some midi routing via Audiobus 3

Thanks for the video, it's really useful for me :) I'm just starting home recording day1, with the iPad and Apps (also I'm totally new to iPad itself! Double whammy!) - So I really know next to nothing yet! O~O - My AKAI MPK mini is on the way in the post right now, and I was wondering.... How do you map all the AKAI knobs and dials with an iPad synth app? Does each app have options to customize this? Or do I do it another way? Thanks, all info is a big help at this point! :)

Hi! Do you know if there is a way to play one sound in a midi controller and one different in the other? I want to connect two keyboards to the iPad and play two different sounds using garage band. If you or someone can help me would be much appreciated
@greetriman2156 жыл бұрын
What you want to do is possible but not with GarageBand. You need to use two different midi channels for each controller and configure this in your software, garage band doesn’t allow you to do that. What I use for that is sampletank from IK multimedia have a look at that app. Good luck

Does your midi controller change the knobs in GarageBand as well?
@greetriman2155 жыл бұрын
No, only volume is available. GarageBand is not really a good midi contrôlable app. No auto learn etc.

Does it matter if the hub is powered and if so will it work if Unplugged
@greetriman2157 жыл бұрын
The hub doesn’t need to be powered, the keyboard gets power via the iPad power supply. It doesn’t work unplugged.

Greetriman I used a knockoff two to be precise however I got the notification saying it needed more power. So bought a new one that I can charge with. However I don’t get any notifications whatsoever and it won’t recognise an accessory has been plugged in. All midi options are turned on in settings
