You need to keep the area clean and avoid fingerprints on the screen. Clean fingerprints before reapplying the screen.

It seems like you went to far in this battery replacement. Just take the screw out by the battery terminal and pry up.

Good video. Would love to know where I can get the "credit card" sized plastic tools. Would an old credit card work as well? I will use this info to remove the Lithium battery from my aging iPad so I can dispose of it correctly. I've had some success handing one from my old MacBook to the folks at the Apple store. There may be other companies in your area to accept them.

@@DIYGeardo My local repair shop hunted thru the odd screws for my and now my daughter's Ipad is charging and acting normal. Without the screw it would only take enough charge to turn on.

I Brought mine to my local Apple Store. They don’t replace i pad batteries. For $129 plus tax, they handed me a brand mew i pad, the same model as the one I gave them and even downloaded everything from my i cloud back up for me. I walked out with a fully functional, brand new, not a refurbished, i pad in less than an hour. The cost of a knock off battery plus all the effort is not worth it to do it yourself.

I haven't watched this in detail but I see a HUGE problem. The front is GLUED IN. You have to HEAT IT to open it. I worked as a tech for a decade. It is ALMOST GUARANTEED that you will SEVERELY DAMAGE your iPad trying this. SPEND THE MONEY TO HAVE IT DONE BY AN EXPERIENCED TECH PLACE. "DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME."

@Userxyzqwee it stopped working after a full charge and the apple shop told me 2 years was about right .advise to buy another one . .I was probabky unlucky with this ipad but decided to buy a cheaper lenova for a 3rd of the price of a ipad .
