Thank you Jesse from 2 years ago. Even though I’ve done some of this before I love watching this stuff while I’m working on my own.

Great video Jesse, what power supply are you using to show on the screen?
@VCCBoardRepairs2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I am using the POWER-Z USB Meter to show the USB charging current on the screen. You can find it here: amzn.to/3za3ohP

I have a quick question why didn’t you turn the Pads before you install the TriStar?
@VCCBoardRepairs Жыл бұрын
Do you mean, tin the pads? If so, I am pretty sure I explained why in the video 😅 Basically, not necessary if the pads are even

today I forgot to isolate the battery connector before connecting ipad 7 lcd. ipad is turning on but no charging and not showing charging percentge. do you think it's also same as your tristar issue? thank you

i would check for pry damage on the board or check for a damaged battery connector.. I have a video on this topic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHSydoqujqaCqrc

3. I just use tin snips to cut the shield. Trick on the 7 is to snip on the side facing the battery right where you cut and rip the shield at an angle around the corner towards the tantalum cap. Sometimes ground plane gets exposed but no big deal tbh.

yup. that's how i used to do it. i find the dremel a lot safer method now that i have it.

Using a drill to cut the shield is dangerous for the board because of the iron filings that will enter like water under the pieces

You used way too much heat. Too risky. Battery just next to it. Not very good heat control.
