i dont use many layers, but i didnt have any issues with the brightness or apple pencil :o maybe you've got a faulty unit? best of luck to solve your problem :3

hmm, I hope mine isnt faulty. so far the problems havent kepts me from being able to work on it though so im going to try to go with it for now. I dont have any kind of apple care so idk what I can do if mine is faulty considering im passed the 14 day return period.

I had no idea about the overheating but now it’s something I’ll keep in mind. Do you know if it happens while charging and using or just while on battery? Nice review and art 😊

It happens with both charging and using, especially if you do the two together though with the recent updates it doesn't seem to happen nearly as often, I use it daily and the last time it dimmed the screen while using was probably 2 or 3 werks ago so definitely not anything to worry about anymore. I have the 11 inch iPad Air and it also heats up really bad sometimes when drawing in procreate, haven’t figured out yet what’s causing the heating, but it’s annoying. Another issue that I encountered with the Apple Pencil pro is that the double tap function is very sensitive, it often activates just by moving the pencil in my hand. No problems with disconnecting tho.

@@westwaysable yes it seems it got better. I also solved the problem with double tapping, by making it work only when hovering, from Apple Pencil settings.

even wacom intuos 4 or the pro 2013 model before 2010, only had like 1k or 2k pressure sensitivity. Its all bullshit and the number ultimately means nothing for artist. This convo is a farse going even before drawing screens existed, on the screenless tablet market.

@daluxolosithebe8376 I got it directly from Apple, and I'm counting the total price including the apple pencil pro. They are pricey, but so far it seems worth the investment as I've made the money back with it from commissions

I assume if you’re referring to the cellular version and rounding up that makes sense..but the WiFi version 128gb is 799 plus pencil isn’t enough.. but cellular version is 949 plus Apple Pencil 130 which I think costs between 1140-1150.. I am using iPad and it doesn’t have a calculator app, my iPhone is currently out of power, so don’t attack me if my numbers are a little off, not a math wiz..
