They’re not weird storage options. They are very deliberate. The iPad Air is a good deal until you realize that to get a reasonable storage option, you’re only $50 lower than a 128 GB iPad Pro. Honestly, people say this is the iPad Pro killer but to me it seems designed to sell more Pros.

This new Air is a very good machine but...damn NO...for me absolutely the unique real "pro" is still the iPad Pro, even if it still runs the "old" A12X/Z :) 6GB ram, 1TB storage, Face ID, 120 Hz, true stereo audio...it still has too much features compared to the new Air. And, last but not least, its amazing 12.9 inch! I use it for digital artworks 99% of the time and canvas size matters!! A lot :)

i just switched to editing my videos on lumafusion... i now record my videos in either 4k or 1080p 60fps (on my phone) and its just AMAZING ! the experience is like magic !

Bought the 256gb iPad Air 4 and I love it. It is amazing how fast it is able to encode videos. I have almost replaced 75% of my workflow on my laptop with this iPad. The magic keyboard is highly worth it too.

I haven't had an iPad since it first came out. But the Air 4 is a gorgeous piece of technology. The A14 is the latest and greatest that will last for years to come. Gaming is smooth as butter. Carrying it around feels like a feather. Holding the flat edges feels like an expensive portal to the internet world.

The iPad Air 4 works PERFECTLY in its nice IMO. Plenty of people (myself included) love the look and a lot of the features of the pro but were not pros and were not people who can justify spending that sort of money on a pro. We either settled for the air 3 or just bought the current lower end - it looks basically the same and to the casual user works basically the same too. Now we have access to the air which is basically a pro lite which is in my opinion an absolutely perfect middle ground between the low and high end.

I keep asking for reviewers to compare this iPad to a iPad Pro on editing and rendering speeds of GoPro Max 360 video files but NONE will take the challenge, keep commenting on Gary’s posts but he won’t take up the challenge! The iPad Pro thrashes ANYTHING else, including most desktops and laptops unless very high spec on render speed of 360 video files.

Always good reviews and advice. I personally don’t love Face ID. When I’m out and have a face mask on, Face ID sucks. I’d rather have Touch ID and the cool new implementation of Touch ID on the air is pretty awesome. I agree about the memory. I went with the 256 GB version but in retrospect, I should have gone with the iPad Pro. Though I’m very pleased with the air. Cheers!

Hey. This is coming from someone who has not owned a mobile Apple device since an iPhone 3. So I've never had lightning besides the charge port on my magic trackpad on my iMac. and I agree that USB-C is better than lightning in every way. But all that you mentioned about accessories and dongles can you not get all those with lightning as well? I've seen you use HDMI adapters and USB adapters for the standard iPad

Why not just disable the Touch ID requirements for password autofill... not like you didn’t just use it to unlock the device, or you’re leaving it unattended or unlocked for long periods of time. It’s what I do on Mac as there’s no FaceID. Would be nice to have, but an inconvenience? Not too sure about that.

If you’re looking at tablets then the ecosystem is a must. The only reason why tablets are able to replace laptops and phones for some tasks are the apps that actually make it useful. With the s7 and android, you’ll be getting apps that may not be ported over to tablets or apps not optimized for the s7 specifically. Without the app support there you’ll be severely limiting what you can do on the tablet. It doesn’t matter how fast the processor is, how good the screen is, or any other specs if you can’t do anything with them. Considering how the android tablet scene is still developing, I wouldn’t consider a high spec android tablet and just settle with a cheap one with a good screen, you won’t be able to do much more than media consumption with android tablets. iPads can replace laptops and desktops for 90% of tasks not because they’re powerful or the highest spec tablets out there, they’re powerful because it provides you with any tools you might need in your day to day in the form of apps in the ecosystem. Without the ecosystem, you’d be better off using a laptop
