Thanks for making the video, it gives me some hope. I may give it a try. I ripped my connector right off the board trying to replace digitizer.

@@jasminecrawford1875 I ended up sending mine into iPad rehab and let them fix it. I wrecked my home button ribbon cable, so it had to be replaced. Touch ID doesn’t work, but otherwise it’s working perfect.

It’s a shame they pair the parts, I wish they wouldn’t. But then if they didn’t they couldn’t guarantee security o.O

So what are the tools you need exactly to fix this! It was a great video but you was adding a gel thing, was that to make the connector stick to the iPad like I’m confused on how it exactly became a working part of the ipad

I would a microscope is nice to have but not essential, just a desk magnifier will likely be good enough, apart from that teeezers, fine tip soldering iron and patience, the gel is flux, it helps the solder stick, while protecting the joint from oxidation and somewhat helps spread the heat. It only helped stick it due to surface tension
