I had a skin on the trackpad and it definitely was not a placebo effect. I lifted half of the skin and did a comparison. I realised i had to tap a lot harder for the single tap on the covered area so i removed it as well! Great video! I got my skins from XtremeSkins and their skins are of super high quality too!

Thanks for addressing this issue as we hear little about Magic Keyboard wear and tear... I’ve been using an Otterbox case that opens & closes with the iPad & keyboard but it’s a bit bulky albeit very protective. Got mine installed today! Black carbon fiber with the trackpad cover on.. So far I’m enjoying the texture. Absolutely abhor the material apple uses on their keyboard cases. Agree with you, worth the purchase!

SopiGurad has information on their website about removing residue with rubbing alcohol or GooGone. I am fine using Rubbing alcohol because that is what I was using before to clean it. Good Video Idea, I will think about it.

No, this has no corners you need to wrap around. I said something about that when filming but I cut it out. Just flat surfaces.

There are a couple of I guess scuffs. Most of them just rub off but some of them are a little more permanent. Better than being on the rubber. I still highly recommend it. Scuffs on the wrap are better than on the rubber case.

Hi @jerry, on another video I heard you mention you remote in from your iPad to your work box/servers. What app are you using for this. I’m currently running Jump Desktop but wondering if there is something better. I mostly do my remote work when connected to an external monitor so it’s nice to have an app that can throw the remote session on to the monitor.. Unfortunately I’ve not been impressed with apples implementation of mouse support (Logitech Mx ) so hoping my MK will improve things when it arrives tomorrow.

I got my skin by sopiguard today. The very large piece that goes on the keyboard facing down, was tooooooo difficult to apply 😂😂😂 I thought this would be the easiest since it’s the biggest and I’ll I had to do was unfold it off it’s paper but no. Apply and reapply lololol Every other piece was easier 😂 My advice to everyone else, when applying horizontally, don’t stretch out the skin! Otherwise the skin will cover the edges (I didn’t have a problem with that since it looks “fuller”).

I use a cleaner called iKlear. Apple stores use this to keep the display units clean and It works really good from my experience on my Apple devices.

Your video inspired me to look into skins for my magic keyboard that I hadn’t even bought yet (picked it up this morning and I am IN LOVE with it) but being in Australia I had a lot of trouble finding stuff from stores/sellers that looked trustworthy plus I’m not a huge fan of waiting on international postage especially now with drastically increased wait times so i tend to avoid it as much as possible. I instead i went on eBay and ordered several different bundles of vinyl stickers so i can stickerbomb it (along with probably most of my other devices with the amount I’ve ordered). It wont be 100% covered but it will be much more personal and still a decent bit of protection.
