I'm really torn if I should buy the new iPad Air or the upcoming Ipad mini. I want an iPad for note taking as well as a good all round Ipad for on the go because I'll be starting pastry school soon but I don't know if the mini is too small for it. What do you recommend?

For school, I would still say the normal iPad Air or iPad 10th gen is a better option for doing work with. I find the mini better for browsing or streaming media or doing light note taking

For this use case, I would recommend for ipad air. Even the M1 version is more than enough for the next 5 years.

I find the iPad mini to be the most useful iPad product available. I use my mini constantly. The upgrades to the chip set is fabulous news. I will be at the front of the line when the mini you described becomes available. I hope you are right about the coming improvements.

My next upgrade is going to be the iPad. Waiting to see what is introduced this cycle before deciding which model. I have a 4th generation mini now and I really like the smaller lighter Apple products over the big heavy ones. I also own and use the last Macbook 12. I waited until they brought out the second version and then maxed it out. My MB Pro is a 2015 product and it is on my 2025 or 2026 time list.

I have the Pro he Pro 11", iPad mini 6th Gen, MBA 15" M2 and both iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max. I really hope they drop the new iPad mini! I use it behind my iPhone mostly. I have a nerve condition and makes it difficult to hold the Pro 11" & Pro Max. I love the mini the most even over the pro version. I will be buying the new iPad mini if they drop it. One of my best electronic buys this year. Hoping for new one next month!!!
