@@QiaBraham honestly that's the wrong call... I would rather have the A18 or A18 Pro tbh... I dont need the raw power of the M1 and the M1 has way worse thermal performance and battery life and its based on 4 year old silicon so it is missing all sorts of features that have been added to apple silicon since the M1... M1 is a poor choice.

I love my mini 6. I got it solely for watching media and that’s, to me, what it’s best for. The size is awesome and is perfect for setting up to watch KZbin, Prime or whatever. Plus it’s a cool device to connect my PS5 controller to and play some games on.

I have a 12.9 inch iPad Pro… Fourth generation, I use it but as far as I’m concerned, it’s not “portable“. Now my iPad mini six is by far my absolute favorite iPad ever, I’ve had the iPad mini since they first came out and it’s the perfect iPad in my opinion. It’s actually portable, I can throw it in my purse. It goes everywhere with me, it’s not a laptop replacement, I don’t need a laptop replacement. I need a laptop when I need a laptop and I need an iPad for video consumption or texting simple things like that While I’m sitting on the couch watching TV. The iPad mini is the best iPad hands-down. I am absolutely looking forward to an upgraded seven version. If that happens this year, I will definitely upgrade. Unfortunately my mini is 64G and I definitely need more space than that, so I will definitely upgrade if a new one comes out this year.

Love my mini 6, originally bought it just because I sold my iPad Pro 12.9 M1 and still had the Apple pencil...I wanted the cheapest iPad option to support the Pencil 2, so the mini 6 was a perfect buy at $400 (summer of 2023). I had the mindset that I would barely use it but that it was okay because the price wasn't horrible. However, I find that I constantly use it as a companion device to my Macbook and iPhone...in other words, it is an actual tablet and not an oversized wanna-be MacBook. As soon as the mini 7 is launched I will be waiting in line...to me, this will be Apple's best product of the year!

I just bought the Pro but I already had the mini. The mini is my second phone/companion to my IPad Pro 13 inch. The mini is portable enough to carry with me everywhere. Now the fact that Apple is still selling this for 499 is crazy!

I really hope we get a mini 7. Just a modern processor to run console games and dip my toes into Apple Intelligence and maybe a storage upgrade. I will probably keep my Mini 6 for a home control device or pass to a family member.

Love mine! Replaced a 4th gen mini with it last year. It makes a perfect “in between” device when a phone is too small but I don’t want to deal with my MacBook Pro on my lap. Mostly use it for KZbin, safari and occasional iMessage/facetime.. and quick sketches. I got a cheap pencil clone off Amazon and keep it in a speck folio case. It’s a great size to tossing in my laptop bag with a switch and power bank

I absolutely still love my Mini 6 and it has become my most used Apple product ever! Actually, I think it is my most used piece of tech ever 😅 However, I gotta admit, getting one with M1/ M2 and higher refresh rate would be awesome 🤞

I love the mini, I used to have a M1 12.9 iPad Pro and absolutely loved it especially the screen, but got rid of it since getting a 16" M2 Max MBP to replace it, weirdly I've found myself using my old iPad Mini 5 on the sofa a fair bit as a happy medium in size, when I don't wanna use the big slab of a macbook regardless of how good it's screen is. I've used it so much ive actually considered buying the iPad mini 6 but since I know the 7 is round the corner with some good improvements (especially jelly scrolling) im holding off, but im surprised at how much I've picked it up it's such a good size much better than my old 12,9" One can dream but I hope they add 120hz, I'm so used to 120hz now, anything 60hz looks so choppy really takes away from the experience. But overall, the Mini is such a good device so underrated.

@@aewolfieee Yeah that’s the one thing that really put me off getting an iPad mini 6, I knew the 7 is kinda round the corner and the jelly scrolling seemed really off putting. 60hz looks choppy to me at the best of times now I pretty much only have 120hz devices bar the Mini 5 so anything worse on top of that seems like a big detractor from the overall experience.

I downsized from a 12.9 inch ipad pro (granted it was also the three year old version, so it doesn't have quite the functionality of the newer releases) to the ipad mini earlier this year. It was not a bad investment for me, even after i found out they were potentially releasing a new mini this fall. I use it SO much more than I do the ipad pro, just from a portability standpoint. I do still bring the pro with me when I go out of town so I can have a second screen with my macbook if needed, but once I got a laptop again, I just didn't need the pro anymore for regular use. I mostly use it for just procreate now haha, which feels like a bit of a waste.

I’ve had the Mini 2, 5 and 6 and I love it 😍 I use it for everyday tasks like mail, texting and social media among many other things. And like you, I’m reading because of Apple Books 👍🏻 It’s much more comfortable to use for those scenarios than my 2018 Pro. Not sure if I’ll buy a 7 when it comes out, though, since the 6 does everything I need it to do. Maybe wait for the 8 😄

I, too, will get the mini 7 as soon as it comes out. Mostly I just want more memory. I can’t believe 64gb isn’t enough nowadays. The days of efficient coding to utilize memory to the fullest seem to be long gone. Anyway, next one will be the most memory I can afford.

@@theoriginalmilkman I don’t buy that at all. We don’t need enormous bezels on our phones as “thumb rests”. They likely made the bezels wide to cut down on cost - smaller display equals less expense. It also cuts down on power consumption since there are fewer pixels to power. In three years time though, battery technology and overall chip and software efficiency should be at a point where such shortcuts aren’t needed. On top of that, if they replace the display technology with OLED, that would mean even less power consumption. Note that I’m not referring to tandem OLED.

My IPad mini is the only computer I use. It’s easy to use, very fast, never a problem. I have 256 GB version which I load up with downloaded movies. I watch live tv on it with great quality video. It’s the perfect size for traveling . Suckers who use normal IPads.For video on airplanes find they’re way too big

Here’s what’s gonna happen…I have a mini 4 and been doing my research. Don’t want a 64 gig mini 6 so will save my pennies for a 256 gig which in Space Grey. Those NEVER seem available in the Apple Refurbished site. I will then bite the bullet and buy a new 256gb Space Grey. It will arrive and and I will be overjoyed! …one day before Apple release the mini 7 with a base storage of 128 gig at £499.00. MUTHAF~

Yes actually. There's iMovie and Davinci Resolve I believe. No Final Cut due to RAM limitation. Oh and Capcut as well is decent I wouldn't say that is this things main use-case of course but there are apps you can use on here for editing.
