The glass seems pretty durable, however, because of its large size it still can be damaged pretty easily when it comes to drops, especially if you do not have a case and screen protector on it.

There is absolutely no way that this is a real world example of opening this ipad. They DO NOT open that easy. Running one of those worthless safe pry tools around the edge of the screen does not release the adhesive as shown. Why don't you do would be repair techs out there a favor and show them an ACTUAL sample of how difficult these really are. This is misleading.

Also, the LCD is held at the bottom with fabric tape and doesn't simply "lift out". These kind of videos do nothing but cause problems for beginners. Redo this entire video, find an iPad mini that hasn't already been disassembled, and show us all how to do this properly. Along with the issues you can run into, how to put adhesive back on these before closing up etc..

I first watched an hour long, more thorough, repair video and then this. Nail Polish is right. There is way more to this. RF tape, magnets, double stick tape, and removal of old adhesives, using dental floss to remove lcd, and cleaning. If you need to do this repair, watch other videos first.

Just so you know in this video you say to lift the LCD from the bottom. The bottom is where the flex cable is located. After I broke the flex cable I watched the video and you are in fact lifting from the top of the device and NOT the bottom like you say in the video while you're doing it. Use caution. Lift from the TOP when pulling out the LCD.

You probably took the digitizer ribbon off first..you should have taken the battery ribbon off 1st then the digitizer ribbon u might have blown a fuse or something

They are different repairs, the iphone digitizer is fused to the display and the ipad mini has the lcd and digitizer as separate pieces. Replacing the full assembly on an iphone is about the same difficulty as replacing a ipad digitizer.
